Hello,
the first event of wave state championship will take place during the October long week end, check it out!

See you there!
Adrien GACON
President NSW WA
Should get there this weekend - the forecast SE and swell would be good at Flat Top!
Can't wait to get up there.
Jimmy was going for it that day!! Would have won the most "ambitious/extreme/committed" comp (if there was one!).
hey guys what time will we need to be there on saturday to enter? probably have to do most of the drive that morning.
As you know, we'd normally say sign on is 9-10 (or 11 if a NE'r is forecast) although we are aware that people will be driving up that morning.
Looking at the forecast right now, I'd guess that the earliest we could run a comp would be after lunch on Saturday when the wind goes from NW to N. Flat Top should work better in a N than NE anyway so all good.
I'm sure Jason (Head Judge) will take all of this into consideration - just try to get there as early as possible, and make sure you let someone know that you're turning up - that way we can include you in the draw.
Cheers
Update for NSWWA competitors.
Due to the forecast of potentially 5m+ swell on Sunday, we will be looking to run heats on Saturday - the Juniors. At this stage there is a light northerly wind forecast so we ask you all to head to Hearns Lake for sign on between 9-10am.
Please head along, sign on and support the juniors - our next wave (excuse the pun) of windsurfers!
Squally on/off conditions with small irregular but clean waves (SSW cross-off).
I left at 3pm as wind died off (pros down to knees uphauling) - but just checked the graphs looks like it kicked in again.
They had run initial heats of groms/2 x Ams, prob masters too and started Pros.
What happened after 3 when the wind kicked in? Hope it turned on again
prob not too many pics - grey moody sky not much light and raining
yeah what happened today monday, the bom wind stats looked good and better than yesterday, which was difficult although always good to get some sort of action and see all the crew with there new toys. especially that 120L Nude of Robs, amazing how much volume can be stuffed into these new boards, the future is interesting.
heres alan warming up
thanks Jason, Ben, Alan, Warren and all who put these events together, it doesnt happen otherwise.
anyway who got where in the final showdown.?
Probably the most hardcore comp in the last few years. All divisions got a result. Some carnage with a couple of ripped sails and one busted mast. Lots of photos were taken. Full report on NSW WA website in a few days. Standout sailor was probably Duncan Osborne on his new Hot Sails taking some of the most critical smacks in the warmup to test the waters. Great to see newcomers Zac and Andreas giving it their best.
Cracking weekend!
If you have any good pictures (there were loads of cameras out!) please PM me and I'll give you details for NSWWA picassa album. We could also do with some for the Event Report!
Next event we'll be looking to head to is the NSW Slalom series opener at Botany Bay on the 30th October. There's a good chance we could do well - as we can all carve gybe . Should be fun!
Cheers
Does anyone have an AWESOME photo from Monday's competition? The Woopi Advertiser is going to do a report on the event.
Please PM me if you do!
Thanks
nice report adrian. some big, messy waves and that killer flat top shorebreak.
lots of competitors with new gear. maybe I need a second job! oh yeah, check that, I've got one - 3 children!
