Buff point is beneficial for newbies and older dudes and dudetes.

I could not get a park except way up the street so I said stuff it! and went to canton and had a sail. There was lots of parking spots free at canton.

New in the area. Need a bit of advice.

I've visited a few of the 'spots' but haven't seen any of the windsurfing community. Went to Buff Point at 1:00pm today, totally deserted....Only a couple of dog walkers.

Would like to meet up with the windsurfing guys and gals. What time do you guys go (when and where). I now live in Hamlyn Tce.

Not sure were you went yesterday but there were a lot of people around at 1pm. The launching place is at the end of buff point ave, and the place is marked as Green Point on google maps. Another place to launch from in Northerly winds is from Peel street, there is a park there. Or go to Canton beach on the other side of the bridge. I only go there in strong winds, but there are a lot of friendly locals. A weed fin is a must.
Cheers

I was lost, it seems....I was at Buff Point, Edgewater Park I think. This place is all new to me. Still getting my bearings and trying to meet a few people for a regular sail.

Ok. I see the spots you mention on Google maps. I will try them next time.

Are there any particular times that you guys sail?

Hey Tranquility, cool name. Frothie here give me a call if you like 0424 322 997 I can hook you up with any info on our special spot.
Back to parking issue!
After a strong wind with a full as carpark and only 1 experienced windsurfer heading to Brandon close to alleviate the congestion (good on you mate)
I'll just say (I am SURE AS **** NOT GOING TO CALL MYSELF "Just saying) , hehe
I'm Done with the arrogant ones! I have learned enough to launch from less preferable spots I will leave my spot to a less experienced sailor!
Welcome Tranquility The LOCALS are extremely friendly and
helpful to all and everyone. Unless someone starts it up, we sure as **** have respect for ourselves and each other and don't expect any less from others.

I sailed buff point for the second time on Sunday afternoon and parked my trailer next to Tibor along the fence line as i couldn't turn around for cars down both sides of the road. I wasn't aware of this whole parking dispute until Mick pointed it out, nor did I know of these other launch spots.

I hope you aren't referring to me as one of those selfish ****s! I am happy to launch from other areas, especially if this type of bull**** is the norm down there. If someone has a problem with me, come up and speak!

Thanks Froth. I think i went to Brandon close one day and it was pretty tight for space too, especially for trailers. Is there anywhere else around the bay that is decent to park in a south westerly?

No worries, no one used Brandon Close except Johnny ledgend??
I went to seventh ave because I had a repaired boom with lack of curing time ( didn't need channel risk)
however I was joined by two great sailors that shot of down to the busy bank!
i stayed up high and had a blast
its all good with everyone.
I'm over it now. You lot do what you want. I'm amazed at how many people bitch about these same issues and say nothing?
Thanks to everyone who's given me assistance with windsurfing. I just hope the newer guys get there space!

Thanks Frothy and Powerslosh for the tips. I will try to catch up with you guys soon.

Been off the water for a while and need to build up my fitness and skill again. (Long Winter and big move from the other side of the World).

Planning to go for a few light wind sessions (15kt~) to Brandon Cl or Buff Point over the next few days. Is there anything that I should know (watch out for) i.e Trailer parkers, submerged rocks, high spots, car theft? etc... that would bring me undone.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Ok this is it for me with parking. Lets try this, A minumum 3 vote nomination on double parking with car fine of $10.00 made payable to GPSTC and KA72. Parking with trailer $20.00 to Gpstc and Ka72. No map or parking lines required just common sense and courtesy with a little communication in regards to possible double parking in. Monday was crazy with the number of legends out but maximised parking, for sure. Please consider others to those who turn up early. Consider a full carpark atleast. 95% of sailors are very considerate.Me done. Go Marauders!!

All fines doubled if you're from Lake Macquarie ? Monday worked well Jeff and I got there early and had no problem being parked in as we were staying all day. I left my trailer home knowing that it was going to be really busy, however, if you're old or young or a newbie and it's going to blow hard get there early. First in best dressed with consideration given by un-hitching trailers. I like the fact that you get to interact with heaps of dudes and dudettes, and have a good chat (you can call me selfish) but I would rather be at Buff with the majority. Winter is coming and Peelie has plenty of room for everyone, looking forward to it. PEACE brothers

Is it true that if Frothie gets the sh1ts with where you park, the man mountain will actually personally relocate your vehicle (and/or trailer), human-forklift style?

Alternatively, c'mon down to Primbee....plenty of parking any day of the week
