Arrived at venue.. looks great .. road to club is locked and not sure where to launch? Does anyone know this area? Looks like some local knowledge regarding the waterways... any help appreciated..

Hi Brett walk across the oval in a northerly direction, little sandy beach is the place to launch, pretty sandy the weed bottom. Can be some stingrays around. The only bit of Brisbane Waters that might be of concern is the reef between the two cardinal markers off Point Frederick, espcially at low tide. If the NE is a bit fickle at Saratoga try sailing up the right hand bay to Green Point where its always a bit stronger
Day one of the Saratoga Raceboard and Techno Challenge today - the north easterly refused to come in as forecast so Raceboards did 3 races involving a lot of pumping! The Techno fleets outdid that with 4 races. Here are the provisional results. Great club, nice vibe, sunshine. What else could you ask for??
Day 2 and the end of the course racing all classes got 8 races in. The first 2 today were in a building seabreeze then we had a break to see if it would build more which it did and we got 3 planing races in. Congratulations to the winners, great racing and more fun to come over the next couple of days with some tandem sailing and novelty races.
Thanks for a great weekend racing.. beautiful venue and some nice conditions in the end..
Thanks to Saratoga sailing club and Lissa and Richie for organising.
Much appreciated..
PS, I vote for all racing to finished at the top mark from now on... just a thought....

a few clips
good versions still to come
Awesome footage Lyndon. It really shows what a great day it was out on the water!
Thanks to Chief Fun Officer, John Doolan & Lyndon for organising the twin tandem sailing relay at Saratoga today.
Together with the random partner selector & the 9.5m sail at the back, it was absolutely hilarious & quite an experience to be pumping & planing on a broad reach. I can highly recommend it.
Yes Day 3 had Tandem relay racing 2 teams of 7. Lots of fun changing lead multiple times. As the afternoon went on we changed up to having a 9.5m and a 6.8m in a 12 -18kn sea breeze and topped 18kn board speed. Something every one will remember and talk about for years.
More photos of the event will come later in the week.
The event formally known as the Raceboard Nationals took place in another form over the past 4 days at Saratoga Sailing Club in NSW. COVID-19 meant competitors couldn't plan to attend the event from interstate so the event morphed into the Raceboard and Techno Challenge with 28 competitors taking part.
The plan is for the Nationals to be a 3-day event around the weekend of the 17th and 18th April.
The Challenge comprised of 2 days of course racing, followed by an hilarious relay race using 2 Gemini tandem boards on day 3, and a marathon on day 4.The course racing was won by Nathan Clift, with Jimmy Levy coming second ahead of Richie Reynolds on a countback.
The tandem racing was a new experience for most, sailing a windsurfer with someone else was a great exercise in team-building. And the racing was really close as well. Thanks to Chief Fun Officers John Doolan and Lyndon Bauer who provided the idea and the equipment.
Day 4 was the Marathon, a tour all over Brisbane Water, taken out by local lad John Doolan in one hour , with Matt Quick taking out the half marathon.
Thanks to Saratoga for their usual warm welcome and their flexibility in allowing this event to go ahead.
The next event in the NSW Raceboard Series is Illawarra om 13th March, but before then we have the Kurnell Cup on February 14. See you there.
Thanks to Lyndon Bauer for getting out with all his video gear and drone video the event. Stay tuned to the forum for more footage.
Great work Lyndon, I'm sure all that participated in the Tandem relay will remember it fondly for a long time, it was cool to be out on a board with someone else, a different experience for us all. Thanks for bringing the boards down.
