Last day of the sailing season, 8-12 knots north easterly, flat water, 16 raceboards, 4 races, 4 different winners and lots of different placegetters, hot showers, cold beer on the balcony afterwards with nice company. Winter series starts May. See you then.

Good morning Steve, I received a reply from Greg McInnes last night :-

"Racing starts from 1:30pm. Usually there are 3 short races".

Knowing your extensive rigging regime you should aim to be there around sunrise ;) I'll see you around midday :)

Some green arrows on forecast. See you there.

I heard there was 25 for the last months race. That's a big fleet for a club winter race - any race.

Last DAC winter race, it was 24c with a warm northwesterly, lots of sailors (raceboards had more contestants than any other class) with the first mark 150m after the start so a complete hot mess unless you got there first (congratulations Lea!). Sorry, but I'm soft and its too cold for me...

I'm a bit surprised it's a relatively late start. Generally, in winter the wind starts earlier and fades earlier in the arvo.
However as Dooly inferred - I need all the time available, just to rig and get to the start line with 5 secs to go. I do intend to get an early practice in preparation for kicking some butt. I'm after Leah's crown!

I suspect the late start is to coincide with the late afternoon drinks on the balcony!
That said the forecast is looking pretty awesome for a 1:30pm start.

Great day of sailing (3 races) - shifty winds with big gains and losses in tactical decisions.

I counted 21 raceboards so a great turnout for a midwinter club race.

A very enjoyable afternoon at DAC. Congratulations to Lea and Justin on their race wins.

Also great to see the Lord Racing 9.5 Raceboard rig out on the water. It looks and sails great Justin - well done!

Mid Winter series on tomorrow at DAC - The forecast changes every time I look at it - windy then not - so who knows.

Last day of the series this Saturday, 1:30 start. Forecast looks like we will have a bit of breeze and then we can relive the glory with a drink on the veranda.

22! Largest single racing class on the harbour? Has to be close.

Good turnout today for the first day of the 17/18 sailing season. Water was warmer than I thought it would be. Further details at the Dobroyd Aquatic Club website.
