NSW STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS REPORT FROM TORONTO
Dear NSW Windsurfer Class State Championships 2020 competitors, AND RACEBOARD NSW Championships Competitors and our supporters...Toronto Amateur Sailing Club (TASC) again showed they can manage huge events and love having Windsurfers here.
This was a fantastic event and has really showcased our two windsurfing classes to many. Competitors, Be proud, you were sailing with World Class Competitors in star studded fields.
For the windsurfer Class and those interested in joining us - Next years Nationals in Victoria and World Championships in Perth should see good results from our NSW Team of which you are part of and invited to attend and compete in.Windsurfer Class Results

Without further ado........ drumroll please!

Congratulations to our Divisional Winners as Follows:

Women - Lanee Beashel, SLMSC Lake Macquarie (1st overall)

HW Men - Andrew (Dolly) Divola, Manly Skiff Club Sydney Harbour (11th overall)

SH Men - Matt WHITNALL, RSYS Sydney Harbour (16th overall) clearly, the light winds favoured the lighter sailors of the fleet.

Men's Youth/Juniors - Jono Tuite, RPAYC Pittwater also scored a 10th placing overall.

Womens Youth/Juniors - Scarlette Morris, Woollahra, Sydney Harbour

Outright - Lanee Beashel, SLMSC, Lake Macquarie.

Special Mentions to Georgia O'Shea, our Youngest Competitor at 15 and Lawrence Alderton, our oldest but by no means old at 83!
What other sport has an age range of 68 years competing together?
That's just one reason why our Windsurfer class is so special. Versatile and affordable for all, we had recent windsurfing students competing in their first regatta in cruiser division out there on Windsurfer LTSs - along with well renowned champions. We had one local on a windsurfer Original and old school rig circa 1980 that you can pick up for under $100 virtually anywhere and still had a good time. Reach out to a non windsurfing friend and see if each of us can encourage a new participant to our wonderful sport and the fun class.
Congrats everyone, hope to see many of you at Balmoral for round 3 of our spring into summer series on Saturday 5th December.

For the raceboarders, top three places went to:Jimmy Levy, Nathan Clift and Vaughan O'Shea defeating last years state champion, Grae Morris in Fourth. That's two youth sailors in the top four! It was good to have this crew along at the event as it added another element to a terrific display of windsurfing and course racing. The spectators were spoiled with a display of colour and action with fantastic weather.
