2021 SurfFX Burrum Windfest 24-04-2021 29-04-2021 with 30th being a reserve day

These dates are a bit later than the normal Burrum Event but after lots of consideration of the low tide dates available the committee settled on these date as they are a fantastic low tide and we did have wind this year around these dates. These dates have been up on our website for many months. The current committee decided not to make any formal announcement previously due to the corona virus situation. All planning for the event is continuing as normal - including sponsorship. permits, Fraser Coast council support, corona virus restrictions compliance, photographer and safety boats.

More news on the dates for the opening of entries early in the new year.

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help at during the event or if you have any queries please contact us at secretary@windwanderers.org.au

Cheers.

so, "any gps unit is acceptable for this event", means it doesn't have to be the couple that are acceptable for the gps team challenge site? Sorry, never had a gps, ignorant, but maybe interested in the Burrum event for the social side, getting tips to improve my sailing, to enjoy some time away from work.

Does a NP high hook vest qualify for the PFD regs?

Where can you buy a pea-less whistle?

My other half would come with me for a break from work as well. Do many partners normally go? She would relish just chilling out but she doesn't mind a chin wag.

Cheers for your assistance.

OK, leave is booked...see you there.

yes Gordon...the missus will be able to chin wag, plus shopping trips to Hervey Bay etc. its such a relaxing pleasant spot I go just for the holiday and if the wind up great.
But boy there'll be strife if they cancel the sausage sizzles again !!!

Cheers Phil. Might give it a miss. The overwhelming number of posts, since mine above, offering encouragement to attend, and all the reasons why a first timer should consider it, was just too much! I'm better off doing a short notice application for a week's leave based on the forecast and sailing at our local. And some people wonder why windsurfing is a dying sport

It's seriously worth the drive down! Great cameraderie, nice venue and the speed course is just freaking amazing. I'm a fan of the event and I'm not a speedsailor! It's just fun.

Mate you just need to pull the trigger and do it, half the fun of these events is just to get together with a bunch of people who love windsurfing! You always pick up tips from other sailors and make some friends for life, participation in events like this is what helps our sport and the organisers of events to do more. Burrum is also a pretty partner and family friendly spot with plenty off accommodation options.

Trigger pulled. Planning and bookings underway. That flat water in the pics and vids from previous years, just too hard to resist!
