Miss the bay in Brissie but will take advantage of the wind whenever I can.

Ive very fond memories of easterly speed sailing against the spoil bank and one chrissy being out there with 14 or so guys going around bottle buoys body dragging and destroying a football fin. Ahhh!

then running out of water...

Yeah spot on. This time of year behind the outer bank and good easterly's its a fun time.

Only 1 or 2 (max) other windsurfers here. Rarely is there more than just me out, but a few kiters to blast with.

Some good swell on the high tides too......anyway it it is what it is.

One good thing is there are almost no jellies.........

A little fella near the yacht club side when I was walking the dog. Abt 1.5m but not sure of the type. Had a large head though. Ones 3-4 times as big on the outside.

No crocs sighted.........yet ha.

It's either a bronze or tiger. I learnt to windsurf in Carnarvon and these guys were everywhere in the channels and front beach. occasionally you'd see them or they'd let you see them just to remind you they are there. And from time to time you will sh@t your pants. But at the end of the day they are no bother.

you should be getting a few days in with offshore conditions. My current workplace blows its arse off all the time from all directions, but sadly not allowed to play

enjoy our our north west

Does PH ever get north-westerlies as it'd get butter smooth along the spoilbank.

It did when I went to school up there, plenty of homework not getting done! We had Windrush boards back then to start with. Clubman, Fun 11, Storm 10,9, & 8s. Wayler then the customs arrived. Mine was a Lindsay Park 10'.

NW's are great as can rip along to bay side of the spoil bank. All offshore but if anything breaks you just get washed down to to Cemetry Beach unless your close but have to warch out for the rocks. On the large spring tides they can sweep you around the front of the spoil bank and out to the shipping channel if your out a way and have equipment failure. I try to keep pretty close on an outgoing tide.

Got out on the 7.8m yesterday abt 15knots so got going for a few runs which was nice.

Yep, some great memories of blasting along the shore of the spoil bank on an easterly in the mid 80's. I too had a Windrush Fun11 but was lucky enough to also have a cambered Bombora 6.2 sail. Yeah there's some critters in the water but I'm just lucky that the worst injury I sustained was cut feet from falling off near the channel of the yacht club... Good memories indeed
