yes there is probaly 20 sailors if not more that come up from brisbane, we have been making the trip to Elliot heads for over 15 years, lets hope we get some south easters
Elliot heads is the mouth of the elliot river just south of Bundaberg - about 20k's. A good mix of sailing depending on the tide. High tide will see swell come into the mouth, and at low tide very flat water. There is reasonable shore break along the beaches northe and south of the mouth, or you can head out into the ocean. It goes off in a sou'easter. Usually we see an afternoon seabreeze without fail - but always nice to have the big blow come through.
As BC said there is a large number of us heading up. We generally have camp sites along the entrance road and down the front corner. Just look for the trailers.
Hope to see you there.
Dont forget to call in to Burrum Heads on your way home.
Turn off the highway at Howard and follow the signs to beautiful Burrum.
Welcome drinks on arrival.
