Thumbs Up

The eagerly awaited ladder has been updated, with a twist!
Firstly scoring has gone from an accumulation only system to a more traditional sailing scoring, eg Lowest Number is the winner.
With that comes the 'discard' system, currently sailors will discard their 2 worst results (Spread sheet does that for you!)

So this means if you had a shocker, be it struggled with conditions or gear etc no need to stress it wont count overall.

The scores also still reward 'sailors that register and sign up and commit' and also rewards those that 'turn up' even if the race gets called a non event due to conditions. How does this work..if you don't show up you get full points based on amount of sailors who registered for that event...if you did turn up but no event you get half.

As you will see on the table it works really well, any feedback or comments on the scores please PM. We have all the results on record and file for all events so if we find a glitch in the system that is unfair or doesn't work we can tweak.

The above means that's is a really fair system, forgives a couple of dud performances and keeps everyone in the game.

Word of warning though...with only a few events left in the season, the wind minimum will be more tightly watched and enforced, Sunday was a big toys for big boys day and clearly those that had the light wind stuff excelled...but that's not what the series is aimed at we are aiming at 15+knt events, to keep the gear requirements down to a minimum, however it was impressive to see how well the bigger board/sail combo's excelled in the light stuff.

So here it is...its pretty crowded at the top and still wide open for many, special mention to Kellie Tusler who is showing most guys a clean pair of heels!
