Bugger - That would be Bathurst Race on the same Sunday. Not sure if that will effect numbers?
Cheers

Hmmm...
Windsurfing on the bay or sitting inside watching 6hrs and 16 minutes of Supercheap Auto adverts?

Hehehe. Not really a choice for most I admit but as you know I sell parts to the teams so need to watch what happens.
You can come round and rub cream on my couch sores if you want Brendan..........
PS. Have you used my board yet?
Cheers

Despite the slight improvement in Sunday's forecast its not going to be enough to ensure we get nice solid winds for the day, the long term graphs look better next weekend, so it's official
Round one Race 1 Bribie Island will be Sunday 13th September, see you there...enjoy the weekend, great weather ahead!
Mate I think you mean October the 13th , same weekend as bay side round 2 . Good to see so many types of events being run
Nice Work Simon,, you have changed the forecast!
GAME ON Ladies and Gentlemen!
BOM has seriously changed it's tune, especially for late afternoon, and Bribie Island will be a bit windier than mainland also.
So we said in our philosophy we had to be flexible with conditions, and we are ...so 100% about turn

Not yet Marty. Just been looking at it all winter. See you out there mate.
Hey Guys after the race we are going to head into the Bribie SLC for a cold one, the SLC have been very supportive of the event and are helping us out tomorrow with boats/markers etc, so would be great to support them back at the Club also.
They have advised that Sunday nights are pretty busy in the dining room, so if your thinking of staying on for a meal best to book, you can call the Bribie SLC on 3408 2141
Great prizes tomorrow thanks to Goodtime at the Gabba, Random draw $50 vouchers to spend on any goodies you like at Goodtime at the Gabba, a lot to give away so be there to be a winner, any one can win a prize on the day.
Hey guys, well what a fizzer! The wind 'threatened' all day but like campaigning politician was full of great promise and delivered bugger all!
Thanks for those that attended, and the WW crew for the set up/organising etc . We did all get wet, the occasional run was found in some little puffs here and there, but certainly no where near 'race' or 'event' conditions.
Think everyone will agree it's a corker of a spot, will work either Nth or Sth directions, low to moderate bumps at low tide, easy shore break, a great swimming beach for the kids, get there early and go for SUP, super clean warm water, flat inside and a nice bumpy bit out the back in what I like think of as 'Dora's playground' think Nemo movie!
Plenty of parking and parklands for BBQ/Lunch etc..and with views of Moreton island right there makes you want to sail over to Tangalooma! (hold that thought!)
We are going to aim to run the Bribie event Sunday 20th October.
20th has been decided on, so to attract the 'Brisbane' crew, rather than clashing with the Slalom on the 12th..so look forward to seeing all the Brisbane guys on the 20th!
The status of the event 'open right up to the morning of the event' this time, we really don't want to take peoples days 'sitting around waiting for wind' we all have other things we can be doing...BOM changed the forecast on us on the morning of the event and we were too far gone on commitments to change this time, not sure really why they ever thought there was going to be a late 20-25 breeze???
Thanks to the guys at Bribie SLC, a great luxury having them on board to set the course and watch over for safety, and we will have them available next event also.
It was good to 'test' a few things out, setting the area (will make bigger next time as most people sailed outside of the 'box') Dylan KA72 as written a special program just for the series (thanks Dylan) that is hard drive based so we got to play with that also, it records and ranks everyone on the event day into the event photo location, tracks all etc etc al very technical clever stuff, but basically just come ashore hand over your GT31 and all will be done in a very short period of time (no internet required).
I personally drive past Bribie island at least twice a week, think I'll make the effort to call in more often, both to sail and play, it does feel like your on an island and a really nice spot worth the effort.
So here is hoping for some decent wind on Sunday 20th October.
Thanks to the organizers for running the event the wind was trying but just didn't get there.
had abit of a putt around. Really nice spot
Well we need the Rain. With this comes marginal easterly winds and decision to aviod dregging off bribie this weekend.
The next scheduled date is the October 27th at same spot.
Cheers
Freerace.
wow, skunked again!
No go for this Sunday at Bribie , we will try again for Bribie later in the year.
So we look forward to Sunday Nov3 at Lake Cootharaba, that's next Sunday, no times set yet as we will base the start time on what the best wind of the day is, statistically we must be a good chance for some wind.
There is a heap of prizes pooling up also to give away, so be there to be in for the goodies! Entrants from the October tester at Bribie earlier this month will have their entry fees already covered for Lake C.
There has been some great 'weekday winds' of late so hopefully everyone is in form!
for more details go to http://www.freeracequeensland.com/
updates, will also be on our facebook site, www.facebook.com/pages/Freerace-Queensland/696024240424557
Enjoy tomorrow's wind!
Sunday's forecasts are looking positive for a decent breeze on Sunday...looking forward to a great day at the Lake!!
Hi guys,
we have a great forecast for wind for this SATURDAY! That's the 9th of Nov.
So we are going to respond to the wind and the conditions , and heading back to Woorim beach Bribie island!
It's an awesome spot we have the SLC keeping an eye on us, lots of parking, sand great spot for families even dogs!
Register from 1.00pm sail any time, pretty much anywhere within reason , we will have boundary off shore marked.
Submit your GPS after 4pm to record your best hour in your session , we will have random prizes to give away also.
Will post more details soon.
Yes the format has been tweaked a bit.... Sail anytime during the 'session' but you need to log up your best hour, that may between 2-3pm or 3.30-4.30 for example , its not a pre determine hour, nor is there a determined course... Just give us your best 60 minutes.
The forecast is a cracker so come and free sail on Saturday get logged into the leader board, maybe win a great prize also. It's a really nice spot to sail, all the facilities you need for the family near by, will make for some great photos as you get to look down on the sailing spot from the sand dunes.
