Has anyone seen these giant brown jellyfish in the seaway lately?
I saw about 10 today coming in the seaway and they are HUGE!
I stopped over one which was getting close to 1m in diameter! They look pretty solid too. You will know about it if you hit one on a slalom board.
Ive never seen anything like them in 20 years on the goldy.
They seem to have a turtle shell pattern on the top. This is a similar photo...

I've seen them up Caloundra way. I don't know anything about them.

They look a lot more solid than the spotted ones above. Maybe 1m diameter is a bit over exaggerated but you wouldn't get much change if you put one in 44 gallon drum.

i couldn't find much info on the PT3B?

Lions mane jelly, have seen em in bay but not while sailing, be a rather large bump if hit. Biggest one ive seen cruised under boat for a bit was probably 4ft across.
