We are planning to run the Green Island Marathon this Sunday!
One hour to do as many laps as you can! Perfect for those 1 hour GPS sailors.
Rabbit Start!
FOIL and FIN and WING

You must have AWA or AK (kite / wing) insurance to race.
How about a free ride division, for all of us that want to sail but don't have full on race sails and race boards.

We're happy to have a freeride division. We do for all Bayside races. However usually the freeriders do one lap instead of two. I'm not sure how to quantify what constitutes a freerider in this case. Happy for suggestions. Non cammed sails? Not sure how to govern boards? Keep in mind the forecast is up to 30 knots so many may be on freeride sails.
So yes to freeride but we don't want arguments over what is and isn't freeride equipment.
Line Honours (trophy)
Foil
Fin Open
Fin Womens
Freeride Fin
Fastest lap
All awards bar LH are for bragging rights and a nice pic at this stage ;)

With bigger marathon event , you might get a few more first time / freeride sailors . With class choice I think most people are fairly honest whether they are better sailor on no cam freeride , or not such a good sailor on older race kit ... Same time or laps would be good (its only hour)

You still got time to get to your local retailer and buy some race kit.

Freeride forever (I'm to old for that heavy race gear)
Great arvo and thanks Mitch for organising this event. Nice to finally meet you and also Fifey and Leo who I have chatted with over the years. Today was crazy windy with a solid 25/30 knots coming just at the start and then seemed to stay between 25 and 35 for the 1 hour. Congrats to those who finished and Julien V who I had a quick chat with just before the start.
Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped out, and congratulations to not only the winners but all of the sailors who spent an hour doing laps in 25-35 knots!
Here are some of the photos from the day, the rest can be found here:

I saw a couple of go-pro's on helmets through the race - did anyone make a video, it would be wicked to see the race from that perspective

Will put together the hour long race video tonight... might take a bit to upload to youtube hehe.
There are a few clips on my facebook page already - www.facebook.com/ScottyAUS2222/
There is talk of a multi cam video being put together as well if we can gather other peoples footage .
I just checked the videos out on your Facebook site Scotty. Man, you are chatting away like you're on a Sunday stroll. My everything was so clenched up trying to avoid sudden death.
I wish I could relax like that on slalom gear, I was struggling on free ride gear with a 5.3 wave sail up.
Great fun !.I was spent after 3 laps on a 5m wave sail. Those cookie medals were a great innovation.

Oh I was clenched too... not tight enough apparently... my pants were brown at the end
If that foiler knew how to jibe you wouldn't have been able to overtake him.
It took you forever to get even close.
