It's always windy up there this time off year and Green Island is an amazing places to windsurf.

Less than a month to go before the Nationals are held up at Green Island. Time to get organised if you are intending to go and speaking to those who went last year it is windsurfing heaven so it is well worth considering.
the other 'green' thing about green island is that green arrows actually mean windy, unlike SEQld..solid 25-30's up there all week on the BOM...
I've been a good boy, hoping to get there..scars have nearly healed from last year!
Well, as they say, the cream always rises to the top.
In this case, Australia’s Top End.
And so it seems this year, with the Green Island 2015 Entry list already looking like the crème de la crème, a veritable who’s who of Australian Slalom and Freerace. And they won’t be getting it all their way either, with International entries from Poland’s Premo Jacniacki and the well known figure of Danish charger Jesper Vesterstrøm adding their faces to the starting grid in 2015. Knowing a couple of other seriously regarded Aussies are also waiting in the wings, the State Challenge is also looking wide open. WA already listed a solid fleet, while Queensland may have the honor of defending on home ground and Tasmania should never be discounted when the conditions get tough. With some new faces in their squad, New South Wales could yet be the dark horse.
MIA's ?? Well, you decide...
But that’s before we factor in the Freestyle.
Stand by for ACTION! It’s all Green… It’s all GO!

Who from QLD is going? And where are you all staying, island / mainland. Any recommendations, I was going to bring the family but have decided to come by myself.
Hey mate, I'm heading up sat and staying at with a fair few crew at Getaway on Cairns. Awesome you are coming up, it's well worth it! When are you headed up?
Oh my God, this place rocks. Only just managed to join the end of the last slalom race because my gear got lost last night but had a run in the free race event. Some great sailors blasting around the course, which was defined by the reef and basically flat. So much so that I used the 110 and never felt out of control. Not sure what the wind readings were but I'm guessing low 20"s.
Looking forward to the slalom tomorrow and then if I can manage it perhaps another run in the freerace event again.
This is the first time I've managed to get here bit I can highly recommend it as the perfect race venue. Top crew here also with a very well organised team running the show and very chilled yet highly competitive field of sailors.
I remember 50 cent Rum and Coke Thursdays in Cairns at the Central Hotel back in the eighties. Good times, bad hangovers
Full details Scott, Billy's FB photos look great...what's the common size currently, plenty of wind on the forecast...very Jelly bags!
There is heaps of photo's up on the Freerace FB site and some GPS replay links also, Kelly Morgan is flying the flag for Queensland currently and is in the mix.
