Basically we need wind...remember that stuff? We have 1st & 2nd of April registered also , but current forecast looks unlikely for that 1st weekend of April.
It's all low key , but a great turn out would be awesome, who knows it might even become a regular feature on the wave sailing calendar going forward.
What a Great way to Honour our Mates.
Been a while since ive sailed, but hope to get along to check it out.
Do we really have to wear floatation devices?
Just an impact vest mate, though given the forecast it's looking more like a surf sesh and social on Saturday to remember our good friends. More details to follow.
Cheers, Tim

Looks like fun, can only do Saturday now because am already registered in Peel Is Marathon race on Sunday 23/4.
NoR Section 1.4 mentions "Similar format as used by NSW Wave Series, with extra categories ".
Where can we find the NSW scoring format?

Hey Azuli, We are only going to run Saturday based on the current forecast, the Peel Island Marathon and the Caloundra Malibu Club are surfing at Neil St on Sunday.
With regard to the scoring format, for this first event it will be a very social with the emphasis on having fun just getting a bunch of sailors together to celebrate the lives of our good mats John and Matt.
So the plan is to run expression sessions for a few different divisions depending on how many people register and ages/gender. So 30-45min session of free sailing with sailors to be judged on best 2 waves and 1 jump if conditions are good for jumping with 2 sailors selected to go through to a final for their division. The winners get bragging rights with prizes in the form of gear or in store vouchers for all competitors.
Please be aware with the delay in running the event I am pretty much on my own as most of the WW are up at Burrum Wind Festival and Jonesy is travelling for work.
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Tim, for a lot of work that went into the event, possibly the first time the sunny coast has had a wave event ? If not ever, certainly decades if there was before.
Thanks to the organisers of the Koda Classic it was great to be part of.
It's certainly been a few decades since my last wave event. Last wave sailing events I can recall on the Sunny Coast were in the 1980s at Coolum and Alex Headlands but there might have been others I didn't sail in.
Biggest QLD wave events I recall were 1985 Radio 10 ESP at Duranbah, and 1995 Aus Wave sailing nationals.
