Hi there, we were thinking about coming up to Burrum for Windfest 2023. My partner is a windsurfer but I'm a wing foiler. Are wing foilers welcome? Thanks

Wing foils are welcome (as they were in 2022) , and in 2023 there will be a separate wing foil division offered in the contest with full scoring.

Hi guys, never been to one of these social sailing events before and back into sailing after long break. Does everyone just find their own accommodation around the Lake somewhere?
It is very informal. Everyone is organising their own accommodation. Some might camp and some might rent
Staying in Noosa from 23rd, so will definitely come up for a sail.
Now I HAVE to take all my windsurfing gear
Did ya get any good days of wind for the event Kellie ,??
The next 5 days look awesome ..

Was only up there for 3 nights and stayed at Elanda point. Had one good afternoon on the wing foil in a nice constant 10-14 knot NE breeze no one else around a few kites then a few windsurfers showed up later but were struggling to get going. Could have gone out on last day in about 15 knots NE but wind didn't arrive till 2pm sick of waiting so drove home. Yes next few days look good. Enjoyed a sup session in the everglades
What is the best caravan park to stay at in Burrum Heads I will be coming up from NSW for the 2023 Windfest

I don't use the caravan park myself but as no one has replied yet I will give you what little info I know
There are 2 parks right in town very close, but with both options you will still need to take your windsufing gear in a vehicle to the launch area so choice is not governed by that
Option 1, Fraser Coast has a handful of water front sites with a busy pedestrian path between you and water, the rest of their sites are either side of the main street
Option 2, Hillcrest is about 300m further down same street from the town center and elevated
Sorry I can't comment further on facilities etc at either
I think others have said in the past that Hillcrest is better priced ?
I can tell you that at Fraser Coast Park the management forbid riding push bikes within the park (including tarmac) as last year I rode down to see another windsurfer at breakfast and got a roasting by the caretaker
time to start booking up a place to stay in 2023
One of the best Burrum photos ever!!
