Lake Somerset

Heading there for xmas - am thinking about taking the sailboard out - has anyone had a sail out there and what is it like?

Hi Morgan,

The first time I stepped on a sailboard was in Lake Wivenhoe(I didn't get anywhere, as I had no idea what I was doing. Lol)
On a better note: Both Wivenhoe and Somerset have a pretty good constant wind that comes in nearly every afternoon at about 5pm. The only problem with that is that you would be washing down and de rigging after sunset...I'd say it's worth it for great sail though.

Great spot when the wind is strong, can be a bit fluky but still lots of fun. Can be an alternative in a westerly also.
