For Weyba sailors, the council are seeking submissions in advance of "developing a landscape plan for Lake Weyba".
Details are as per: www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/Council/Planning-and-Projects/Infrastructure-Projects/Lake-Weyba-Foreshore
They've mentioned kitesurfers but not windsurfers in their overview.
The Council have already consulted locals at Weyba on 23rd Feb.
I'm not sure if all of this is e a threat to our current launch area (below) but I'm going to make a submission as to why we use this particular site. I would imagine the more of us submit, the better.
Cheers,
Peter
PS Sorry- the picture of the sign has come out side-on

Hi, as a sailboarding family we filled out the survey. Requested tables, bbq, amenities block, a few more open grassy areas close to water so its easier to launch n rig boards.
Andrew.
Done. Thanks for sharing this. I have probably only been to Weyba less than half a dozen times, but it is a great venue.
Added a comment about not making narrow fenced access ways to the water.
I find some of the ones at Golden Beach are very difficult to use carrying a sail and this just encourages unofficial access through the Dunes, which I am sure is not a good look for the sport.
Ballast, good point about fenced access. The dunes are erroding quickly here at GB, from tidal influences as well as us tromping up n down them.
I have filled in survey and basically asked for it to be left as is, the only thing we need at Weyba is toilets about halfway along the esplanade up near where the kiters rig up. If you start to put in BBQs, tables etc it will attract to many non sailboarders especially on weekends & there is not enough parking space in our area for more than about a dozen cars.
Agree with Pete. Some toilets would be bonus but bbq and tables may bring more pollution to the area. I note the project area extends south east past the current accessible area so maybe the are considering a foreshore walk there which would be good from that end of the lake.
