Hi Dodgy - What is the anticipated make-up of the fleet? Are there competitors coming from New Zealand and Tasmania?

Yes Pat. There is currently one registration from each of NZ and Tassie. We were expecting one more of each, which hopefully comes to fruition.

Dear Sailboard racers.

This is an opportunity to take part in some great Sailboard racing this weekend from Manly (RQYS). The 2014 Qld RSX and Techno Championships starts with 3 races on Friday, The event has 10 races scheduled over three days, but if a competitor can only make it along for 2 days we will apply average points to one of the missed races so that your scoring will still remain competitive (there will be 2 drops applied normally to all competitors).

If racing for only 2 days on RSX, please indicate a ?techno discount? on registration at, www.rqys.com.au/marine-sports-amenity-building-now-operating/ , so that you are charged at the reduced rate ($100 instead of $150). Also nominate your Missed Day in the the ?Division? description.

There are a nunber of well maintained RSX and Technos with full rigs available for free charter for the event. Don?t miss this opportinuty to try high-performance one-design racing in perfect conditions (15knots SE wind forecast for all 3 days)!

Was a great regatta, thanks to Dave and Jo for doing the organising, the O'Brien Bros. and others for the volunteering, plus the competitors from Tassie Jock and Morgan and Lauren from NZ for supporting the event and making the trip.

Conditions ranged from probably 5-20 knts within races and made for some very tactical decisions that either went very right or very wrong. My muscles are aching, my hands are wrecked and I'm feeling stuffed so that's all the signs of having been a good weekend.

Pat email or post some photos if you get a chance please.

Nice pics Pat. Looks like you were all having some fun. I wasn't sure how you would go on Saturday but then a nice breeze picked up for an hour or so, I imagine looking at the water state that that was pretty challenging on the big kit? I had my hands full on the 9.6 slalom gear.

Plenty of action in those photos Pat. They are all getting plenty of good racing with Lake Cotharaba and RQYS and all in tricky conditions.
The Frosbite Series starts next Saturday as well (24/5) at RQ. Lara will be tuned up well for the Youth Worlds coming up soon.
Pat can you give us some details on how she is going with her preparation for such an important event.

Scot all 3 days of the Qld RS:X Titles had wind. On Friday, we had a SE for the first race. Then it swung to SW for race 2, and finally back to SE for the last race. At times the RS:Xs were planning off the fin, at other times on the centreboard.

Saturday, the wind blew consistently from ESE direction. Again the wind strength was up and down gusting to 18 knots at times.

On the last day Sunday, the wind started off ESE but swung ENE throughout the early afternoon. Race 3 started in 18 knots as another squall came down the course.

In all 10 races were completed, each of 30 minutes duration. There were 11 competitors.

Joe Sterling won the Womens 8.5sqm.
Harry Walker won the Mens 9.5sqm.
Jock Calvert (TAS) won the junior Boys 8.5sqm
Lara O'Brien won the junior Girls 8.5sqm
