Two races at RQ today
Total Distance 25.6 km
Top Speed 22.4knts
6 Technos
1 RSX
1 Formula
4 Raceboards
Racing was actually pretty good for a miserable day, squally and shifty but the water in Waterloo Bay has warmed up and the rain kept it pretty flat.
Awesome!
What no Foilers? They're gonna need to man up soon (or woman up, as they're an equal opportunity class).

Foiling Nationals are not far away followed by the Raceboard and Formula then the wallies, racing is the best training.
I think the rain kept the foilers away, I don't think they like getting wet.
Lots of Etchells on the bay at atm, 98 entries for the Worlds later this month. I was closing in on a pack of 6 or 7 training, we were all on port tack, just as I was about to overtake the whole lot tacked onto starboard I had to find the brakes pretty fast, Jacob on the other hand crossed the fleet when he was on starboard and forced the whole fleet to tack.
Kind of cool a little windsurfer forcing a whole fleet of Etchells to tack
Julien even a tiny bit of spray on the ankles is undignified.
I've been told I was looking cool with my foil until I had to walk with water up to my belly button to launch...

Wouldn't want to get my sailing gear wet.

That's what Etchells do. They tack, a lot. It's okay, they love it.
Another great day of board racing at RQYS with approximately 15 boards (Techno, RSX, Raceboard).
Thankfully the wind strength exceeded the forecast on Seabreeze.
Would be great to see some Wally's and Foils out there too.
Off the beach dinghy and board racing at RQYS is cancelled for next Saturday, 27 October due to the Etchell worlds.
OTB racing will resume the following Saturday.

How long do they race for? Their Worlds are longer than a cricket game.
Racing is on tomorrow, 20knt+ NE, first warning is 1.30pm. Anything is welcome, you should even be able to get a slalom board around the course tomorrow in that Northerly. Casual entries are welcome up to 3 times in a season.
That's awesome
Hows Leo on the foil, he just smokes everyone like we are standing still
What happens when you nose dive a raceboard
Wow, your mast track moved all the way forward in the crash.
some footage of racing on Saturday
Thanks Camm, great stuff.
Challenging but rewarding conditions!

I have had some bigger catapults on Formula gear but that one was pretty big for a RB, have to take my hat off to the Severne boom. It took my full 98kg weight landing on top of it, the boom clamp let go but nothing broke.
Tracks and footage from the 2 races today, first race was light but the wind kicked up to over 15knts for the second
