I am intending to enter, but will be missing Friday (8/7). I'm thinking that there might be interest in running a raceboard fleet - so I would use the lightning for that. Or use the RSX if that's where the action is!
I have an equip available free for the event if anyone is interested, or we have spare RSXs as an alternative and larger sails at the LTW shed. If anyone wants to try any of this gear over the next few weekends (Saturday and Sunday - on the water by 11.00), come along to RQ.
Yes, a Raceboard fleet is a good idea as practice for RBW. Would be keen if I can get time off work.
I've entered Sail Brisbane, and registered as a raceboard. Lets see how strong we can make the class at this event!
Due to popular demand...
RQYS has offered to put on for Raceboarders a mini Sail Brisbane weekend regatta. So that's Sat and Sun 9th and 10th.
The Entry Link will be up shorty. Also RQ are looking to reduce the entry fee to $100 for this event (to be confirmed).
Kicks off Saturday at 09:00 and Presentation and BBQ and beers Sunday 16:30!
Let's get behind this and get some regatta practice in .
That sounds brilliant! A great opportunity to get an idea of how the club functions during a regatta in the lead up the Worlds held at this exact location.
Great work, I was just about to submit my entry, looking forward to accessing the new Raceboard link.
Hey Da Vecta,
Can you post the short Raceboard Series Link up here?
I can't find it on the RQ website...but then they still have the dates and year as 2015.....
I registered by going to the link posted above in this thread (www.sailbrisbane.com), then selecting:
1. Regatta Information
2. Entries
3. Online entry
4. Finns, Moths, Raceboards, 13ft Skiffs Entry Form
The entry price was $100 as indicated above by Da Vecta.
So far 4 Raceboards have registered...

I believe we have the same info as that of the Moths and Finn but I don't the the NOR has been updated yet.
Toeside, midnight Saturday for you. The rest of us, first warning signal, not before 1100 hrs Saturday.
It's very well run. I was out on the start boat today, and if the wind shifts 5minutes before the start they'll delay the race, move the marks and have the start again within 5 minutes.

you should be on the start on a raceboard not a boat
Congratulations to Max Wojzik in winning Sail Brisbane 2016. We had four drifters and two races in footstraps. Brendan Moore was 2nd, a very excited Simon Tribe 3rd, and young Jacob Whitford was 4th.
Courtney Lovell won the Techno's with Courtney Schoutrop 2nd - both will head to NZ to represent Australia at the Youth Worlds.
Racing was very close which bodes well for the Raceboard Worlds at RQYS in Nov 2016.
What a great event!
Terrifying to see how fast the newbys got so quickly!
Going to be keeping a very close eye on Paul, Jacob and Mark at the worlds.
Thanks again to Max for getting us were we are this weekend.
Have a great trip back home and we will see you in a few months!
That was an excellent hit out for us and a really well run regatta by RQYS. There was a lot of different classes out there in three different courses.
Awesome conditions really for the middle of winter! Well done all - good, solid racing.
