looking good so far! some Northerly's and then today!!! More tomorrow
Only manage a quick hour at Neil St and took ages to get sorted, so gusty! inside was light as! fair bit of swimming today but love those sort of days that push you, out the back was 30+ in the gusts.
this was the inside....some people made it look easy! the reef out the back had some decent size sets coming in, was hard to keep the board on the water! discovered that I actually own a 4.7m sail and small thuster fins...who knew!
Great photo. The Redcliffe guys were saying gusts to38kts and rough. Only hard core contenders with sails in low fours were out. Always good to test the limits though. Fingers crossed for a sail at Golden Bay tomorrow around lunch time I'm up that way with the family.
Looking at the forecast, you've jinxed it just long enough to get in beers, ham and a go at the boxing day sales before a big southerly comes in on sunday
Jonesy, There is a big discrepancy between Seabreeze and Willyweather for next week. I hope Seabreeze is right!
Gents, I don't rely on willyweather or seabreeze 'point location' type predictions either because I never know the exact point of their prediction, but have found the BOM ocean wind model to be pretty accurate for northern moreton bay, especially out to 3 days. It is currently showing a big southerly coming up from NSW, but it is only 5 days out so still just a prediction.

God I hate it when I'm right!
It's green all week!
I actually look at BOM and Windguru (WG)for accuracy WG is red and orange all week.
So I'm thinking, waves off Mudjimba/Maroochy or Neil St,,, with some occasional lake blasting for 1hr Freerace practice!
No more googling cheap flights to WA, WA has come to Qld! This is awesome!
2hrs off Mudjimba yesterday morning followed by lazy hr on Maroochyriver secret speed spot,
2hrs at cotton tree today, wheres Wednesdays session? Cotton tree/Maroochy maybe the go.
Heads up, if you get Cottontree (Maroochy beach Nth of the SLC) in medium to high tide its jump and wave ride city! Small waves flat water between, then bigger out the back, and you can actually catch a wave without running into the beach! No sitting around wishing it was a bit more this or that, no shore dumpers, no rocks, sweep is only light, sailing straight off the beach side shore, SLC nearby if you get into trouble also is a bonus.
Outgoing tide it's crap! Choppy and dodgy with serious river current, so avoid .
mornings till mid arvo is the go this week.
Totally loving my tabou rocket and BProject thrusters starting to get back into the groove of sailing wave kit, so much fun!
Still pretty windy, but not 20-30 anymore...
Foot note to last post , avoid Maroochy in outgoing tide! Was pretty full on out there today, survived is all I can say, big sets out the back, kite surfer made the news for a rescue ...sucked out by the tide.
What's day 4 going to bring?
