I actually sailed their in a NE on Tuesday the 13th of February, wind was much more consistent than back up where everyone normally sails because it is 3-4 kms further downwind from the Caloundra headland.
Pretty similar length to the usual GB spot where everyone goes. There's a sandbank which wasn't quite out on the tide I was there on each side of the run so there was small chop in places. Tide run was less than usual spot.
Tracks from 5/2/2018, 10-15 SE. Longer run than usual spot & nice sandbanks along southern side & at end of run before Bribie to hop off on for those who struggle with gybing.
Forecast is for south easterly 10-15 knots so we will be setting up at Keith Hill Park BBQ area see link for directions. Thanks Peter for adding the map overlays above, if it blows more ESE the run is even longer! Good to know it works also in a NE at Military Jetty. This is a great place for beginners as way less tidal currents, high tide is around 10:30am.

Wind didn't cooperate, but a good day anyway.
Thanks to Kelly and everyone who turned up.
Cheers, Brad.
Thanks to all those that came along, was great weather for a BBQ at the beach and ended up a nice cruisy Sunday, with sausages and a few beers in a new location! Good to catch up with some old and new members! A bit more wind would have been good but everyone made the most of what we had.
Thanks to Pauli from "Sunshine Coast Boardsports" for allowing the club to demo the Manta foil, a few got out to try it and one feather weight junior clocked up around 20km on it in the light breeze with a few very nice longer flights using a 100lt board and 6.4m sail! Thanks to Greg for taking on the BBQ duties.
Ok
