I've heard that you can foil at Woody Point in a Westerly. Are there any submerged rocks/reef to avoid? Does anyone have any tips to share?

Woody point is clear of submerged rocks if you go straight out from the boat ramp. The bottom is silt and gravel so best to have booties on. Higher tide only unless you enjoy a long wade, it is quite shallow a long way out.
Good in a west to southwest, though many will head to Bells Beach in a southwest as it becomes direct onshore.

Thanks Airsail! I foiled there today and it was a nice spot. It seems that most locals opted for Bells, like you said.
Woody Point was relatively shallow, around 1.7m near the end of the jetty at half tide. Plenty deep enough to foil though and I didn't hit anything.
I think I'd go to Bells next time.

Bells has rocks just off the beach, I've scratched foils there before, higher tide only. The beach is also in a wind shadow if the breeze is more to the west or north west, not really an issue for wings or windfoil as you can paddle out but a bitch with a kite. It the place to be in a southwest blow.

I and others foiled Jamieson Park yesterday as it was predicted to be more westerly than southwest.

I foil from Eastern side of Pelican park on all wind directions and tide heights.
Much deeper than launching from Woody Point.
There are a couple of rocks that you need to dodge on low tide but other than that it is a good spot!

I didn't realise that you can sail at Jamieson park in a Westerly. Will have to check it out one day.
Are these the rocks you guys are referring to at Bells?

Yep, some are grass covered but there are the odd one which is nasty. Only really an issue at lower tide. Just wade out until you get enough depth.
