If anyone is keen we are heading up to Wreck Rock near Agnes Waters for the long weekend based in a pretty decent swell and wind forecast. The National Parks campground there is booked out so we are staying at Baffle Creek, other option is The Reef Campground near Agnes which has facilities but around an hour drive to Wreck Rock.

Am keen to wavesail there again. Regularly sailed there in the 80's & 90's.
Would prefer to see a 1030 or greater high in the bight to generate a solid pressure ridge up the coast.
The chart shows a 1022 high over NZ and deepening low in the coral sea, the wind strength will depend on the movement of those systems over the weekend. You could be lucky.
The swell can be good around Agnes/wreck rocks when there's a cyclone around.

Can also supsail the bar at 1770. Sailed it this afternoon. Cross off and down the line.

We scored 3 good days of waves, the wind didn't really kick properly till Sunday but sailed all 3 days and this place is defintely a hidden gem on the right forecast. Still to go through photos but will post a few over the weekend...great way to end a memorable east coast summer road trip sucked to be back at work this week.

Glad you got some wind and waves. Look forward to seeing the photos.
This weekend is looking good with 1030 high moving into the bight.

Tim has the pics.

I just have the sore shoulders still nearly a week later.

Friday was average, Sat ok. Sunday epic.

3 windsurfers, 2 kiters. I was shattered by 1pm. Nice to have so few people around you got to choose which of the set waves you'd take but enough so you could push it and know there was someone else around!

Thanks again to the local guys for being so welcoming. Fingers crossed for easter!

Sorry been a busy couple of weeks and we had some software issues and lost a bunch but here's a few shots from Sat/Sun and some GPS tracks, great spot and definitely one to keep an eye on at Easter especially the crew who are up at Elliot Heads....surfed and sailed till l was shattered. Thanks to Jeff and the other local for making us welcome, hopefully we don't have to wait too long to make it back.

Great photos, looks just as I remember it in the late 80's - camping in the dunes and sailing with a couple of others all day!
