Great shots Gav, Pete those Noa's look great Anne do you have a new toy there? Big John, Greg and Ronny drag racing ... cool!
Hi,
Can the guy with the Naish Noa comment please?
I have a 7.0 & 7.8 Noa and am interested in comparing rigging tips.
I am using a Severne 460SDM (supposedly the same as a Naish 460SDM) and Severne ext.
I seem to have to set the down hall to the length noted on the sails +4cm more to get it to rotate properly.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Paul.
Although they recommend a SDM 460 for the 7.0 Noah I find it works better on a 430, had 2cms more downhaul than spec that day. Found it has better leach twist & easier rotation on 430 as well, that was on Severne 90%, used 7.8 on Friday on Naish SDM90% with only 2cm extra, found it rotated better than Severne. The reasons for that is the Naish has a glossy coating & narrower diameter than the Severne, I found the Severne mast much harder to insert up luff pocket. I have ordered a Naish 430 90% off Simon.

Thanks mate,
I'll have a chat with Fifey.

So swapped he Severne 460SDM for a Naish 460SDM and the Noa's rig much better, to the specs +\- 2cm. Thanks for advise.
Funny that the Severne and Naish masts are supposed to be compatible, the difference is very obvious on these sails.
Went to GB for a look today!

Was looking forward for a sail there today with my new Canmore GPS
Up at Golden Beach on holiday for a few days. Went out - didn't see the sign (as I set up just down the road a bit closer to whereI am staying), but heard about from Greg who was there sailing with his son. We figured the tide was going opposite to where we were & tried not to fall in! The wind was pretty patchy, managed to get a few good planing runs both ways.
Hopefully wake up all right tomorrow with stomach intact.
Also be careful with the Canmore - managed to kill mine the other week with a bit of water.
