Hey guys,
I got a new Goya banzai 11 Iris carbon as a replacement for my old worn out banzai 23.
nice , light, good range. what they changed this year is the draft, which is more forward oriented. I had to move the harness lines forward a few centimeters.
this is primarily not a good or bad thing, but definitely a bigger change , especially compared to the last years.
who else noticed this?
What do you think about it?
One thing I don't like is that I have a mixed quiver now, which I don't like
how do you deal with this?
cheers
Fluppy
Best and cheapest way is to live with it and allow for it. On the other hand matching gear with one brand year might mean to upgrade all your sails accordingly at additional cost.
What RichardG says. But when your Banzai 2023 was worn out, how are the other sails in your quiver looking?
I try to not replace my sails very often but when I do I get a (brand, year) matching quiver. It's nice to have a set of sails where you don't have to get used to each sail sizes over and over again.
I used the 5,0 so much more than the other sizes.
For now I bought a used 5,0 from last year in good condition as replacement.
i will give the newest model a try and see over the nextmonths how I like it.
Who else got the new sails and noticed this?
I already did this.
he confirmed the change in the the draft and said there are no complaints so far.
Time will tell. I will update you after more sailing session with the new one.
Not Goya, but when I changed my 2005 Ezzy Waves for sails of the 2012/16 era I noticed the draft was further forward on the newer sails. So I had to move the mastfoot position back to compensate, which was a benefit.
