Hi
i am interested in a goya quad 89 2019 but i dont know about its floatation in lulls for my weight 85 kg and its planning ability .The 2019 series are too narrow only 56,3 cm with a thin tail 35 cm I cannot afford the new 2020 .Could the 2019 model be fine for 4.2 up to 5.3 sails in side shore good waves but also side on shore mush.Should i go for the 94 instead Thanks
I'd go 94 L @ 59 wide for 4.2 to 5.3. If you were looking at sail sizes 3.7 to 4.7 then 89 L @ 56 cm would be better.
Thanks Regarding the 2020 the 2019 seems far more radical The 2020 is more friendly much wider in the the mid and tail .Anyone who had both ? Which is faster in the waveriding
Thanks
I am a happy owner of 2020 Goya custom 4 74 and 84. Best boards I have ever had so far. Especially the 84. It handles and tames all kind of conditions.Planes super early, fast, holds speed in turns, points upwind at will, loves to be atmospheric, tough construction, nice looks, warm colors you name it. Imho better wait until you get an affordable price for the 2020. The 2019 line -very bizzare, very narrow, very thick, a lots of mixed feelings... Hope this helps.
I have the 2019 84L and the 2020 94L. I'm 77kg. Both are very different shapes with the 2019 much more radical, faster and agile but nervous, wants to turn. 2020 is more settled, handles chop and onshore but takes longer to get on the plane and is slower. I use it for FnR and it really shows its value on the face of the wave, great shape board super versatile. If I have to chose? 2019 hands down, but happy I have them both. Can't wait for the new shape to add the 74L to my quiver. Once Goya always Goya
I have 2019 94l and weigh 86kg. Used with 4.2m to 5.3m, and would take 5.7m. i got from friend who replaced with 2020 model. He said 2020 was bit slower, and both boards improved by replacing rears with 16cm K4 Scorcher fins. Sailing with him I reckon 2020 gests going a little earlier, but not much
maker said improved by replacing rears with 16cm K4 Scorcher fins.
I got the 89 It s quite voluminous I think it would be able to carry a 5.3 5.4 for my 85 kg It s very thick.I havent tried it yet The other strange thing is that the fins are so small It is mentioned in the product video that this shape give the option for smaller fins but they are tiny for a 90 lt board. Compared to other fins i have the rears are like a 14 and fronts 8 The rears are quite wide I want to use bigger fins to the front as they create more drive in the turn i will try 14 - 15 rear 12 or 11 front Thanks for the input
