I have had the opportunity to try the new Simmer SC Race 7m last weekend.
The first thing I noticed was how light it is and ease rotation of the cams on the beach. As I was keen to try it I rigged it up when I usually would have used my 7.8m sail
(around 18-23 knots) on my 67 wide CA. On my first bear away I had 38 knot max speed and I was very surprised as it did not seem to be that windy and the water was quite choppy as the lake levels have been up with all the rain. Heading back up wind I was comfortable powered up and I found that I was pointing higher than used to!
I found the sail easy to sail and gybe.
Thanks Gareth for the opportunity to try the sail and I can't wait to get back on the water with it!
Johnny taking it for a spin!
Looks like a magic combo! Not a lot of Simmer race sails on the water where I live, but a local shop sells them so perhaps I can persuade them to make one available for a demo. Are you using a Simmer mast or a standard constant curve?
Nice sail haven't seen a simmer slalom sail for ages.heard they are super light.can you get them in sydney.
Jesper, Sail Repairs in Perth has them. SC Race on sale too i think.. 25% off? If im reading the brochure correctly

That would not be the 2017 version that Matt has which is a completely new design from the 2016 SC Race.

The 2017 SC Race has only just been released. It ran late because of the redesign. Supply is very limited at the moment. Other Simmer sails maybe 25% off but unlikely the 2017 SC Race. All 2016 simmer sails are on sale for more than 25% off.

Just called Jasper currently he has no stock and as I said there is very limited stock only a few 6.3 andf 9.6 available. Hopefully more will be available later this month.
7m retails around $1700 25% off would make it around $1275.00 a good price if there was stock.

Hi Richard, I dont have price list but Jesper will.
Speaking of Simmer, I had a chat with Jesper and he's expecting the new race/slalom boards to arrive soon...I've seen specs and photos and they look very nice....not dissimilar to RRD...which is not surprising as the ex RRD designer is now with Simmer. Particularly keen to try the 106...(68 wide)
