Keen to make something happen this weekend.

Not sure which day yet - big surf (6') Saturday and wind!
Sunday - better size surf (4') but some low pressure troughs coming so wind a bit dodgy...

Will decide by midday Friday based on the updated forecast

Sailing 6 foot + day st = plugging through a km of 3/4 mast high closing out white water in a dodgy 15-20 knt - kinda takes the appeal off wave sailing!!!

One wave heats I'd say!!

Now that's the kind of thinking I like!

thinking of getting down there early and doing the surf check and calling it on the day - Day st - Bashams - Oliver's - White Cross - depending on size.

I didn't realise the council approval was for a mobile comp anywhere on the coast

I see Cape Decoudic wave buoy has gone through the roof - the swell is on the way

I dont think Olivers, white Cross or Bashams are consistent enough condition wise for a comp and calling it on the day is hard to coordinate.

Good chance now that there may be somthing sunday morning at Middleton with much more manageable swell size. Prob best to wait till late today to see what the latest forecasting is. Wind forecasts have been changing all week.

MetEye this arvo has pretty good wind for Saturday: 20-25kts WNW; Sunday fluffing out... 10-15 kts NW. Gonna be a tough call... swell size vs sailability will depend on direction and period. If it's like the big one a few weeks ago, breaking 1 km out to sea, no way at Day St!! If it's more westerly and with decent gaps between sets, could be really good!
