Anyone sail here? Just driving through and there's heaps of wind funneling thru. To the sth a bay looked flat and long.

Other locations to sail? Germaine bay

Ill be coming back in about 5 weeks heading home.

PM either WWS (Matt Stringer) or Pirrad (Steve). They used to live in that area. You could also try posting in the SA kiting forum. There's a large crew in Whyalla. Some of them sail as well.

Yep, Spencer Gulf is very windy (windier than St Vincent Gulf). The SB's in this gulf crank. I occasionally sail 180km south at a place called Port Hughes. Very windy there too.

I haven't sailed it but have always wanted to, Point Lowly near Whyalla. Good onshore jumping from what I understand when its windy.

Cheers guys.
Im a flat water sailor but don't mind ocean. What are you doing. Where and I'll be passing (from Melb) in about 3-4wks heading home. I'll keep checking here and will be looking for buddies if there is wind around. I'm on 041301781 or post here. I really want to get out as many times as I can in new places and have about 2wks to make the most of.
Then home to find a new job.
Cheers Dave

Try these spots for speed. Although, you've left it too late in the season for these spots to work in a SB. They are very tidal/weedy spots. A short weed fin is a must. The tide is also 2 hours out of whack with the rest of the gulf.

A station 60km down the fetch. It will approximate the wind at these spots:

Hey BSN,

I live in Port Lincoln and might be on leave on your way back through.

Give me a yell if come down the west coast of Eyre Peninsular and I should be able to find a spot for you to get a sail.
