If I can sail like you do when I'm 60 I will be frothing. There are more of you over 50 sailboarders' in Hobart than you can poke a stick at, and you all sail like your 25, and go hard, even without the blue pills, great work, .

Appleman - with a bit of luck, you might be able to sail like that when you are 60, but will you still be able to froth is the question...
Greenie and I were bemoaning the fact the other day that when none of us 'mature' bods are sailing anymore, no one will be. We will take that weird old art of sailboarding into the history books with us. Where are the young guns? Attention span too short to be bothered learning how to sail? Does nobody else realise that you - 'just can't get enough of that sensation'?
I sailed 35 knots on glassy water, with 4 foot ramps, under a 3.7m sail on a 55 litre board yesterday...by myself...................
I want to know who is going to wheel us down to the water in the years to come (the weeks to come in Houston's case)?

You elder statesmen of sailboarding are an inspiration to us in our forties. You're evidence the sport keeps us young.
I wonder what the sport will look like in another 20 years and if we will reach your milestone on the water? 
Let's hope we can encourage some young uns to take up the sport. The cost is high and attention spans low as Clarky points out. Who knows the future gear might rig/derig itself via a phone app, have self balancing features, built in hair driers so their selfies look good and Facebook connectivity to encourage participation.
Well done Cracker. Trick now is to slow the rate of maturing or reverse it by sailing every day. Forget the nonesense about life getting better with age, almost nothing does except grog. Clarky & Relic are sort of saying that the sport isn't of interest to the younger brigade because it requires skill honed over a long period and commitment and the ability to do something that doesn't require you to tell the world about it every 30 secs or so. The constant challenge is what makes it so good (as well as watching Hous trash gear every so often). Might even get a sail on Saturday after voting for the least damaging hopeful.
All the cool kids have gone kiteboarding half as long to learn ,more jumping in less wind and a 15m phallic symbol in your hands . What size kite will cracker be getting for his birthday
Well it's shaping to be a great night. Pity you won't be able to make it Ant but at least I won't have to lock up my wife and her girlfriend for this one.
Great party Dave, thanks for the open invite, Jane loved it. Sorry we did not catch with you and Jan before we left to thankyou for the excellent food and company. if it wasn't for the drive back to the Neck would have stayed longer.
