I reckon over 20 sailors hit the water at Doran's today, i counted 14 in the water at one time, not bad for close to the end of the season. Young Justine takes out the award for persistence, on big start board battling winds over 30 knots, Kaleb takes the pussy award cos he just watched cos he's got a saw toe.
Yeah, was a good day! (better after I swapped to a small wave fin). Love that first shot, who took the photos?
I was downwind a bit and at one time stopped and watched a line of 10 or so blasting along on the same tack, with the low sun behind it looked really good.
Izaak, next time you're out on the water grab a few pics and stick them on the site. Port Sorell is a great spot with heaps of wind, this will encourage more people to head up there
Yeh I got out on Sunday at St Helens but how is this for a comparison. 6m sail on a 140l board and only just on the plane. You blokes down there definitely get more of the good stuff.
Was a good day!
I sailed at Coles Bay on the East Coast on a 4.7 with my Freestyle board. Would have loved to come to Dorans but a bit far to drive given I had to fly back to Melb that night from Launceston. I love windsurfing in Tassie - am definitely going to have to move back there one day - Melb is missing all these fronts which you're getting down there!
PS. Damien - what on earth is that move you're doing third pic from the bottom - looks like maybe the end of a pushie - except not high enough??? can't figure it out - looks like you all had a fun day!
