Wow, nice looking wave. Looks like if you stuff up on the wave you end up on the rocks though. Hope the Kode is ok Buzzy. I've never seen such a concerned look on Houstons face. Ok I'm in next time looks like worth the risk.
Fantastic to see photo's were taken of everyone

Trip over the rocks for me. Only a small scratch on the tail of the board. Later wiped out and the broke 3 battens while sail getting worked over by a couple of set waves.
Sail is ok, just a few broken battens and batten pocket damage, easy fix for JAYSAILS

Mr Rob; nose & tail of board smashed. My fin crunched on "soft rocks" and don't forget Ant's munched board nose. Not discouraged Ant stuffed some ding stick in the damage, rigged another sail and ventured back out! Respect

I was riding what I thought was the best wave of the set then heard the roar of the monster behind thought this will be the ride of the century looked down the line and thought sh.t there's Relic already drilled and I'm in the death zone just lucky to get a gust to fly past my half dead mate and get to the beach in tact.
Looking at the photos Applepoo got the wave of the day.
And that was only forecast 2-3m what will it be like with another couple on top.

My favourite is Ant's forward loop attempt...(below)

That is DEFINITELY the closest you have ever got Ant-Man...by FAR!

Launceston to Kelvo 1hr 45mins
Hobart to Kelvo 1hr 25mins

This is seriously a world class spot and the more we sail it the better we work it out. Seems forecast best with a SW swell anything over 3m with S to SSW wind.
Good to see some Lonny's making it down next time.

IT IS NOT A SW SWELL!!!!!!!!!

Anything from S to E swell.
The SW your surfer mate is talking about is when its a SW swell 6 metres plus down south, as this travels through it moves more southerly as the low passes to the south and is a southerly swell up the coast. A true SW swell does not get up the coast, thats why you can have small points in Hobart on a 4m SW but flat up the coast. Yet a 2-3 m SE will have head high waves up the coast.

BOM forecast that morning was a SW swell with Seas 2-3m.......................so Buzzy you ring them up and tell they get it wrong every time

The forecast for the east coast was southerly swell. It doesn't matter what it said down south. The fact also is that swell was bashing down the side of Betsy Island and also getting up the river to Taroona. This is indicative of a Southerly with a fair amount of SE in it. You are incorrect to think that was a SW swell. The low was positioned to the SE of Tas and that is where the majority of the swell was coming from. Yes the forecast said SW on the SE forecast, we are talking about the Inner East coast not the SE coast.

Give the Antman a break he may still have some brain swelling after his seat of the pants wavesailing session.

Thanks Apple and Jez it's a great way to see your technique and the bits you get wrong.................and right. Nothing like seeing the sequence to learn.
