As forecast the westerly came through late on Friday at Lagoon. Initially there was a 24 knot NW blowing which dropped to 12 to 18 knots that had us wondering if that's all we were getting. When the westerly arrived it started at around 25 knots and quickly built to 30 to 38 knots causing lots of stuff to blow around the rigging area ( small children had to hold on to trees and fence posts). Here are a few photos I took late in the day after most of us had kicked back with a few beverages and barbequed goods. Flood, Parky and Ben sailed till late.
Is that your bitch Al?
Lettuce farmers always obsessed with the hoes and the beaches. FYI Patch is a boy dog..
Monday blast in the lagoon in the south ended with Rob catapulting landing badly on the boom and braking I reckon at least one rib off his spine.................I did that once falling off a cow and I know just how much it hurts........yeah a cow
Hope you're OK mate pretty cool move
Just spoke to Rob he's still in hospital with a punctured lung he's pretty saw can hardly talk but he'll live................... so guy's we don't put his gear up for auction ...................... yet
Sorry Rob hope you don't mind us bagging the sh.t out of you we're only trying to keep your mind off the pain.
Gentlemen, I'll have you know that our Patch is a supreme beast of grace, cunning and wisdom. He is know by the locals as "Yoda" because of his vast knowledge of windsurfing and the ways of mother nature, and because of his cuddly yet fearsome appearance.
Not a catapult, an advanced flatwater transition..
yeah brocken rib(s) and punctured lung is the word from the medics.
Better now he has some morphine onboard.
Let me when the auctioning starts ill get the gear laid out in the paddock forbetter viewing.
Damo, just because you have avan with tools in, doesn'tmean you can go around quoting for work, and
$50 for 2 dayslabour isn't realistic, im not sure Rob will want that work.
Great photo's guys - bad luck Rob.
Slightly blurry - but a little Boat Harbour action too..
Wow looks like some where exotic not Tassie.
Hope it's fast healing for you Rob, very unlucky, starting to make me think that Houstons got the right idea wearing an impact vest all the time.
Im going to get one. I always thought houston was batting for the otherside with that impact vest but now i see the light
Thanks everyone who helped. Im pretty gone on drugs at the moment. Think my season is over
Come on Rob chin up your season isn't over yet look on the bright side stock up on the drugs come on down to the beach you sit on the sand dunes with the camera so we can take drugs and smash the lip
Bad luck Rob - these accidents do happen. Just googled to see how long a punctured lung takes to mend but to many variables - but the young !! & healthy have the best results - so we will see you next weekend - OK maybe the following week, or the week after, or, no, surely not next season.

Yeah, thinking along the same lines.
? for those that have them - what brands work with waist harnesses? Do they have flotation as well?

What do they cost Damo? If a few people buy them because of my sacrifice, you'll have cut me in. Im thinking 30%
Sorry to hear about your situation MrRob.
I went with the Pro Limit crash vest. It has pockets in the front and the back, i think they are for putting lead in.
For me having built in weight i put 2 litres of water and a PLB in the back pocket and food in the front.
Works well with my waist harness, not sure what flotation it has though.
Take it easy...
