Luka (Jimo), Lachy, Gary and I had a great three days sailing bluff on the west coast. Waves weren't massive but the wind direction was perfect for some down the line fun!!
Was that over the weekend. There was sun up there
and we had grey drizzly days all weekend.
My eyes are in shock today they haven't seen sun for a while
It was amazing weekend with perfect cross-off conditions all three days. Great scenery, great sailing and great company.
Here is a short video with a few waves ...
Wish those photos had been posted Friday night
what a different weekend up there it would have been as the southern s all blasted to the
NW for a Saturday and Sunday session
Looks great, good score guys,
Next time post on the forum if you are doing a trip, we southerners are not that bad a company
Sorry didn't have the ability to post photos from over there. You guys all seemed fixated on sailing the east coast as well. Thought about coming along but the west seemed too tempting!!
The wind readings rarely pick up the southerly at Bluff but the forecast was clearly saying 20 to 30 southerly and 1.5 metre swell picking up to 2 to 3 metres. Not epic conditions by west coast standards but still a hundred times better than the north coast manages most of the time.
Yep thats what there is here now, 25 to 30 knots of SSW, 3.5 m swell and not a cloud in the sky.
Been the same wind conditions for the last 5 days, light in the morning, sailable by 11.
It can even be 25 kn NE at Cape Grim, but Sundown to Bluff a strong Southerly.
