Looking like a good day for the Goon...moderate breeze and clear water...will be heading up about 11am
I am really looking forward to a sail today. I need to move on from my scary sail Tuesday evening when things rapidly got too windy for the gear I was sailing and at one point the only direction I was able to sail was out the river possibly to Melbourne. My second mistake was to start the sail at 7:30pm. Alan got to see my damsel in distress impersonation. It is a mid-day sail for me.
Currently 10-12 knots SW at goon, sun's shining, no water but improving.
Embo's already claimed his car park.
See y'all soon
A good turn out today for a Boxing Day Sail in some pretty testing conditions . Here are a few pics. Thanks Laura
PS Jason smashed it!
Yes I am stuck at work today but on the upside I have been sent a photo of me sailing Lagoon on Saturday. It was a great day on the water with plenty enjoying the conditions. Apologies for the neon version of the same photo, did I mention that its quite boring at work? Thanks for the pic Sam.
Great pic, Al. Totally awesome and cosmic. You could do a coke ad with the neon version. Maybe even a Coca Cola ad.
looking for some local knowledge... what's the best wind direction for this spot? I'm in launceston Wednesday and Thursday and looking for a windsurf - reckon it'll be any good on 31st or 1st?
Had a brilliant sail this evening at the Bell Buoy. Few of us were waiting for the wind since 2 pm, but except short squall wind was really light. Around 5 pm others lost their patience and packed, and I cleverly decided to wait for them to leave. Wind picked up around 5:30 and I sailed 'till 8:30 with 4.2 nicely powered. Waves were head to 3/4 mast high and strangely for Bell Buoy quite powerful and punchy, with a lot of big close outs.It seems like tomorrow could be fantastic day at the Bell Buoy, probably sailing all day.
