Come along to a FREE learn to Windsurf/Fun Day
Saturday 21st November, 12noon to 5pm
If you're keen to give windsurfing a go or have family and friends that are keen, come along and meet the local sailors who will be there to help you get started on the windsurfers provided by the club. It's also a chance to come and watch the local windsurfers in action, check out some of the gear, and talk to us about how to purchase new and second hand windsurfers. You'll pretty much find out all you need to get started.
The location will be Cremorne Lagoon (Honeywood Drive) or Dorans Rd jetty, Lauderdale. The location depends on the wind direction on the day so keep an eye out on this forum for an update closer to the day.
All you need to do is turn up on the day with a wetsuit, booties and a lifejacket
We'll have a BBQ running with a few snags and soft drinks so come along and join the fun
If you need any more information contact Damien (0409 854754) or Ant (0417 577884) post in this forum.
If the weather is not suitable for beginners (wind too strong) then we'll change to another day.
Keep watching this forum for more information or changes that may happen.
A few pics from learner day last year
Maybe one day you'll sail like this
Or like this
Or you may hate it and just spit the dummy
Ant,
I've let some friends know.
I will be there with three kids for the sausage sizzle part at least!
Rob
Carolina,
we have a kids rig as well.
It is the same size that a fellow windsurfer has been using for his children of same age.
We have 4 club boards with a kids rig but if anyone has a suitable learner board we could use on the day that would be great, the more the merrier
I have a 3.0 kids' rig and some vintage boards for kids to play on, six bouyancy vests and the simulator which can remain set up all day.
Lock up the iPads and remind our kids what "real" fun is. Once they try they can't get enough. most importantly they get to interact....in person not through some electronic gadget.
Sorry about flipped first image. It was vertical when uploaded!

Lock up the iPads and give the kiss some personal contact rather than through an electronic gadget. Most importantly some physical activity, sunshine and fresh air. Sorry no matter what I do the last image goes in sideways.
If Saturday is too windy we'll hold it on Sunday so keep a close watch on this post, we'll pick the calmest day
