A Few of us are planning a "Chase the wind" trip next week....

We are simply going to look at the forecast and go where its windy...... Some spots in mind are Stanley, Boat Harbour, Gorges Bay, Coles Bay, Musselro Bay... Looking to sail spots we haven't before...Might even check in on the Henty. theirs plenty to choose from in Tas

Leaving Monday... All welcome to come along

More details on Itinerary Saturday night.

A couple of the guys wont be joining the tour until Wed but Rod and I are planning to start the wind hunt Monday and go through to Sunday... most likely start on the east coast. Then head for the NW and West Thursday or Friday.

Who knows.. we may even come to Hobart

Steaks beer and sailing are the only definites

Turners Beach is my old home town, why didn't you sail. ? Was there a lack of wind ?.
A good westerly is forecast for the Low head area on Sunday.. What is the road tripsters sail plan.?
This is the only day I can sail this week, so really looking forward to a day on the water.

Whoops this is Gill not Alan

Day 2 of the Road Trip.
10 on the water at Stanley, PB's handed out, really nice sunny warm conditions, even the water.

Off to East coast tomorrow - hoping for a late seabreeze at Coles Bay.... Not sure Gill, Sunday might be a shot.

Road trip over for me at least. Had the best fun I've had in years. Stanley really turned it on and had fun having a sail with others for a change. Will definitely be in for next year.

Day 3 of the Road trip saw us travel to Coles Bay for the forecast N/NNE seabreeze.

It turned it on a little too perfectly, with 25-30knots.
Unfortunately there wasn't a sole around, and the the offshore bullets clearly ripping over the hills and funnelling down the peninsular, we decided safety was a better option, and headed to St.Helens for a lighters sail. We were all a little exhausted as it was. Being blown to Maria Island just wasn't appealing in the event of a failure, with no rescue options.

Day 4 was just a leisurely drive around Binalong Bay, where about 8knots greeted us. Not quite enough to get us inspired - so we headed home.
We did scout 2 new speed sailing/flat water locations - but more investigation on the right winds, and access issues.

Was a superb little trip, incredible amount of laughs had, and great adventures, with some great blokes. Well done to everyone who joined us along the way too.

Grasshopper, the path is long but you have taken your first steps. You must combine the fairy floss of the masses with some tasty morsels for the more enlightened. Nice work.
