A big week with an awful lot of not very much... Blowing a gale and no one sailing. I hate to see good wind go to waste.
Yep, a bloody big storm that one only managed one afternoon either to strong or to cold (7c)until it eased yesterday and surprisingly warmed up (15c) as the 60 knot gusts dropped to about 45 at 3pm .Damo and myself then had a tricky sail with crazy bomb sets arriving when they liked.Yesterday proved that you definitely
need a 3.3m in the quiver in Tassie ,even if you weigh 85+Kgs, 3 hours of steadish 50 to 60 knots and 3/4 mast swell went to waste
Excellent photos Pete makes it look calmer than it was. The videos I took on the phone were not worth posting, pity did not get a shot of Damo doing that loop.
I think the guys who were dry and warmish were gasbaging at the time of the loop instead of looking thru the lens - as clean a loop as I have seen.
