People talked on Wednesday about windsurfing Port Phillip in the 80s

I think this is one of the powerful messages we should include in our campaign - windsurfing is not new and we're asking for the right to continue doing what we've done for decades.

I've been in Melbourne since 2008 so I obviously don't have any photos, but if we could gather them it would definitely help for any future campaign materials.

Please share any photos below - the other thread still exists for having a rant

I think this is a seriously good idea to collect photos going back to the '80's and '90's.

It will help establish that there is a strong windsurfing culture that has been on the bay for a long time.

The photos will show people being healthy, active, having fun and maximising the use of our local environment.

Hopefully it will also highlight how few incidents there have actually been between beach goers and windsurfers over a long period of time.

SHQ/RPS should have lots of photos. So too, Trigger Bros and Peminsula Surf Centre.

Hi guys

I've been lurking around for a little while but this is my first post. I thought these might be useful for your campaign and just happened to have them on my work computer. 1993 on a Tom Ludecke World Cup Slalom purchased from Latitude 38. 1992 Neil Pride Twin Cam Wave Slalom sail for those that want to get nostalgic. Purchased that one from Peninsula Surf down at Rye which I'm pleased to see is still around. Only retired the sail a month ago although it did spend 15 years in storage. The 1994 photo was once on the photo board in RPS. I was 18 at the time. The photo of me sailing the incorrect side of the no boating pole probably isn't appropriate but at the time I didn't know they also applied to sailboards. These are all taken at Elwood between the swimming zone and what was once an old boat ramp out the front of the angling club. Hope they're helpful.

I might have some from Mornington and Point Ormond from the late 80s. Will dig around.
