Wondering if anyone has some knowledge on just how bad the water is and when it will improve. EPA currently rating all beaches at poor. (Don't swim.)

Went out this morning at Ricketts...feeling OK at the moment. Water looked brown like the Yarra though.

I plan to risk it...but I would stay away from St Kilda & Elwood.

Im going to try Rye the next few days. Hoping for a bit of Bass Straight flushing effect.

Did the trip from Safety Beach through to Rye on Sunday. Beautiful, clean water.

Plenty of campers on the foreshore ......... just like Xmas.

Sailed from elwood a couple of days ago and the water was pretty brown but not stinky. As there has been quite a lot of rain over a few days, I feel like the storm water has somewhat diluted itself and that the worst has passed.

Seems that it is worst when it hasn't rained for dome time as there is a build up of nasty stuff in the rivers!

there used to be an epa chart you could look at.

We didn't name the corner at Elwood outside the storm drain poo'kipa state park for nothing.

Passed by Green Point today, so looked at the water.

Clarity is getting better: you can see the sand on the bottom, but the water is still tinged brown.

It was very noticeable that there was HEAPS of mushy seaweed along the waterline, close to the west carpark. I'd guess this is because of the nutrients washed in during the floods, causing the extra growth.

There is a Pookipa smell to the water.

The parking officers are alive and well and writing notes for miscreants

Personally, I'm going to give tomorrow a miss and wait for the winds forecast for next week.
