hi,
anyone surfed this spot.
I drove past and it looked ok.
figure may be a safe spot for me to waterstart practice.....
Nasi...
Nice pick up on the new gear! I guess the catamaran will get cobwebs now!.....
Lake Victoria is a bit of an unknown but I suspect its pretty shallow. Connewarre has had a great flushing out with recent rain and I reckon would be your safest bet for learning to waterstart plus there should nearly always be someone there to help you out...Other options Swan Bay, Point Henry or on a N Point Richards.
Hope this helps
I agree with Red - it looks a little too shallow. Lake Connewarre and Pt Henry are ideal spots to learn as they are not too deep and there is no current to worry about.
Hi guys,
I had a sail on the lake last night!
Heaps of water, not much weed, plenty of fun chop in the middle to jump off!!
See you there!
good find Nasi, I didn't even know that existed
I'll track you guys down one weekend when I'm back from hols.
Sorry I was on lake connawarre, not lake victoria I didn't know that one existed, could be worth a look though?
Gday Red !! long time
I hear ya fellas about connewarra, but it smells like cow poo and the water at the mo is murkier than ever.
I was surfing the barwon estuary last wkend and when the tide turned and connewarra flushed out, the water was so murky it freaked me out a bit!!
i hit some weed at full speed and was like, sh!t i just got bumped by summin, murky water....cue jaws theme tune
I reckon I may just take old board and new, to lake vic.
Il have a blast on the old longy and if theres 4 foot of water or more il see how the new gear goes.
otherwise point henry is at the bottom of my road (i live 5 mins away) but ive never considered surfing it. do you surf at the end of the point (the sandy strip alongside the alcoa pier) or along the west facing pebbly+mud shoreline? plus any lumps of dumped concrete to watch out for
Many thanks
Nasi
enough guys, I can't handle it anymore.
Lake Conawarre photo looked great from the other thread, thats the place i'll start I reckon.
To make it worse, someones allowed to go Windsurfing on a Wednesday.
Some guys get all the luck.
Now where did I put that ebay link for the 1981 'Windurfer with sail and stick, good condition...'
