It's that time of the year again, the Aloha Classic will be taking place from 21-10 to 01-11 at Ho'okipa beach.

With Marcilio Browne and Lina Erpenstein leading by a small margin, it could be quite an interesting wrap up of the wave tour this year.

Monday was a layday.

The heat draws are up: liveheats.com/events/187569

Very nice videos from Paul (van Bellen) about his maiden trip to Maui, especially the second one will be a trip down memory lane for the people that have been on Maui themselves. The first one is not bad either with a bit of back story on how Paul got to where he in in life now.

Let's hope for a great contest! Bring it on!!

Did you see the video of Kai's new board. Insane! Would love to see it in the flesh to understand what he did with the shape

I have, it looks incredibly loose, very surfboard style as he likes that. Probably unsailable for us mere mortals. It's set up as a quad (MFC 4x4).

Tuesday the 22nd a layday as well.

No worries, I should be thanking you for your vids Paul. They are taking me back to when I visited Maui, some 16 years ago now.

Keep 'em coming and enjoy your stay, Maui is incredible!

Here's your 3rd video, excellent as always:

Your excitement when you first got to Ho'okipa reminded me of my visit 36 years ago when I was such a fan boy that I got Robbie's autograph! He was so generous with his time and it is awesome to see him still out there ripping!
Great job with the videos, Paul

Thanks to the drones the audience is already diversifying
or is it just Gunsails guerrilla marketing?

Its been good so far. Enough wind and waves. Good coverage. I guess all the competition categories could be wrapped up in 2 more full days and from the windguru forecast it looks like there will be similar conditions for the next 3 days, Friday-Sunday. Then for Monday-Wednesday the waves in particular look to be better. So do we finish the competition ASAP or gamble on the forecast and finishing the competition in better conditions later?

Exciting to see what looks like a jump forward in evolution. Goya said it was basically a surfboard with a mast track and a bit of extra volume.

seems like Kai has a couple of different version there. Must be a small board. It sinks when he's dredging

seems more bi-directional as in their brotherly podcast Kai mentioned adopting windsurfboard bottom-shapes in his surfboards against traditional paradigms in that guild..
Anyways: smart campaign towards his own pedigree brand or line. Your wallets will take a hit :)

The finals are going to be of a very high level if the swell hangs around. Competition is tightening up

Let's hope on a good finals day (today?)

In the Masters division it was Keith Teboul that came out on top. Nice looking board as well, a real Thruster set up (3 equal sized fins).

In the youth it was Liam Dunckerbeck claiming the victory.

He was in a conference call with his employer and some A-list clients, just like any other windsurfer worth his/her salt.

Was a dry bag listening to music.... according to him his favourite moments happened at:

"Fade to Black" Metallica
"Talk to me" Stevie nicks
"Voices Carry" Till Tuesday
"Ruin" Martin Odonnel
"Devi Prayer" Ananda

During the final he was listening to this:

(Bernd is such a farking legend haha)
