It's on! This coming weekend.
Last event of the season and conditions are looking good to possibly be at the Windang venue. This would be a good warm up event for the Nationals as well. New competitors will cost $30 + $20 for insurance which you will need for the Nationals anyway.
I will post up on Thursday night/Friday morning where registration will be. BBQ is at the usual place in Gerroa. There is BYO mattress accommodation available for $30 for the two nights if you need it. THanks to Sam from WSnS and Anne who is bringing down some toys to demo!
Hope to see you all there!

Guys
Excuse me ambushing this page again, but if anyone has any windsurf gear old or new that you can donate to teach venturer scouts with, please bring it to this weekends wavesail comp in Gerroa/Windang and we will take it off your hands and help clear your garage for you!
They are progressing very fast with 5 now been in the waves and another 15 improving well in a our weekly lessons. Check out the video taken in December showing how they were tracking before we took them all to Gerroa for a week long windsurf camp!
Had a consult with the Judges and checked the Ask Huey Website and the call is for registration to be at Windang on Saturday.
Registration from 9-10:30am and then the skippers meeting. Competition to start at 11:00am using expression style format with 6 man heats. Its going to be fast and furious from the begining to get the best of the wind based on the current foercast. So register early, get rigged and avoid dissapointment.
Windang is located about 25 minutes north of Gerroa and is a great venue if conditions are southerly. Windang Island protects the waves from being chopped up while south or south easterly winds allow great down the line sailing. The banks can manage large swell and break well out sea for long rides and run up for boosting large jumps.
TO GET THERE Turn off Windang rd. into Fern street and continue past the Windang Beach Tourist Park. There is plenty of parking behind the surf club.
My number is on the poster. But competition won't be held up to accommodate late arrivals

Thanks Tim
I would recommend getting there early and getting out for a blast - there was east swell today - will be getting in there nicely
In case anyone can't follow the directions here is a picture of the place (thanks Google)
What a weekend!
Full results and event report shortly. For those who got to the event site early the wind kicked in for a full hour of sailing before rego closed at 10:30am. Next time it might be an 8:30am start so we don't miss the early Southerly. the judges managed to squeeze in a a round of competition Saturday during a 90 minute window of wind and waves at Windang. Sunday's forecast was poor but actually 20knots appeared at 3:00pm for those who were patient. The upper bank was firing with super clean starboard DTL conditions about chest to overhead high. There is some footage fro weekend that may surface in the next few days. Special thanks to WindSurfnSnow who kindly donated some awesome prizes and to Anne for bringing down the JP/NP demo gear. Thanks to everyone who helped make the weekend great especially Craig Williams (former Pres) who flew from NZ to compete and perform salad magic for the presentation BBQ.
Next event for NSW WA is the Teams event in March and don't forget the Nationals which start next week.
Cheers

What a great week end, we scored some great wave on the sunday too, stay tune for the coming movie clip ;-)
I pulled out - but I was on the wave first trying to hit that bigger peak further down!
Did you see the bull shark in the water chasing the bait fish?
How's the video coming?
Thanks for a great weekend Tim and helpers. The sailing was short and brief on the Saturday but the great BBQ food and beverages that night made the trip from Newcastle worth the effort. Sailed Toowoon Bay Sunday arvo but I wish I had stayed down south a little longer. The waves at Windang in the photos look sick. Tim did you get any special privileges due to your win on Saturday?
Special privelages - I managed about an hour to myself on the Windang break when the wind was super marginal. Had to make friends with the dozen surfers in the water after some initial hostile words. But soooo good! I haven't sailed that spot before. Might be worth a day trip in the future!
The results have mostly been done and event report written. I need to double check masters because some of the paper work is in the judges bag in Gerroa. Editing team has everything at the moment and may take out all the obvious references to the author and his dark horse performance on the weekend.
If you can check out the Video from the weekend on face book
cheers
I know its on Adrien's page
I have some more footage from Sam Wall which I will try to upload somewhere
