Luke Hargreaves..I recall from "media" at the time this guy in the early 1980s being on the Bombora wave sailing team and being in Hawaii in 83-84 as the kind of Freesail celebrity-someone may still have the magazines... I think he was in the WBSA and/or PBA (prior to PWA) and was... maybe still is an excellent sailor. See video below as he was by all accounts a "Hellman" and an all round waterman and surfer too. I think he survived the below encounter at Jaws.

whats crazy is how long it takes to progress some aspects of wave riding, look at the footage of jaws being towed then and look at the paddle in footage now, or look at kai lenny with the tow in now, and i'm not sure when the footage of old mate is from but its a while ago.
