Double elimination on now.
Jaeger won't sail again until the very end.
Can't believe how well he has sailed..... Koster, Campello and then Fernandez.... He's beaten the big boys!!!
Is anyone watching this?

Haven't watched it, but Stone did benefit from his heat being 1 jump, 2 wave rides. They switched to 2 jumps, 2 wave rides shortly after.

If they get to the end today it may still be 2 jumps, but tomorrow may go back to 1 jump in less wind.

Jaeger has always done well in Tenerife. The waves tend to be at a better angle and it is usually less windy than Pozo. More of a wave riding event.

Rubbish!!! what are you smoking terminal?
I'm pretty sure that two jumps counted in the last few rounds. Regardless of whether it was two jumps or one, all sailors are aware of what is required.
You might as well say that Jeager benefitted from the fact that he didn't have to cook a cheese cake while he was sailing. He was never asked to do that (please be aware that my understanding is that Victor can cook a fabulous cheese cake but no one can beat Campello's double soufflé)

If you think 1 or 2 jumps counting against Koster makes no difference, then fine.

looked like two jumps were counting at this point. My livestream is not too great.

Koster will be fired up, he needs this event win jumpstart his tilt at the overall.. There's been some good comebacks this already season, would like to see Jigger and Koster in a final!?

That's not what I said mate.
Kosta may well have won if two jumps counted and he may well get him tonight. If Kosta does win tonight then Stone isn't good enough and my response would be the same if somone came out and said Kosta benefitted from the second jump...(that's rubbish because Jeager will be given the chance to do two jumps but he may not be good enough).
Look, at the end of the day, the requirements were set and three full time professional windsurfers were beaten today by a physiotherapist from Perth.
Jeager may well have the ability to smashed Koster in a two jump heat every time if he'd spent three years on a beach rather than studying at university.

I wish they sorted out the archived streams. I'd be watching the heats today. Last night watched till about 12 but couldn't stay awake
jaeger is killing it in the wave rides. Next level. And good to see the judges rewarding wave riding closer to the critical part of the wave.

I wasn't trying to decry what Jaeger achieved either - more pointing out that if Koster does get to the final of the double, the number of jumps may be a factor.

It is a wave contest and in the old days, wave riding was given the priority over jumping. We now tend to have contests where the waves aren't great so jumping is now on par with waves in the scoring. But at least we have contests and the level of jumping now is insane.

I think a lot of people will be happy if Jaeger wins because of the standard of his wave riding, and his jumping is right up there at the top too.

In a similar way, I have sympathy with Iballa Moreno, because if contests were more wave riding and less jumping, she and Daida would maybe be more even in terms of wins. The results, due to the places they take place, IMO don't reflect that Iballa is very close in standard to her sister and they both should get full credit for taking women's windsurfing to another level.

Argh how crap is the stream.

I found chrome better than firefox but only after the final was over.

It was quite disappointing to watch the finals unfold especially after Jaeger broke his board. That seamed to really rattle him. I think his Dad might get a stern talking to about board strength!!!

When is PWA going to start doing the heats by demand after the event. Its the least they can do if their stream quality is so poor!
