With a Chinook 8" fin box from Mark Taylor at Surf Sail Australia and the wealth of fibreglass skills of Mark Taylor Board Repairs in SA you end up with a very tidy large wave Quad Thruster (101) that works really well. The 20cm thruster and Stubby 12cm sides work - roll on winter swell - really for those cross off 10-30knt days where you need the float and the rocker has a calming effect on the gusts and it stomps up wind (compared to quad)

An experiment that's actually worked

Worth keeping, they are a good tough board with the wood and carbon/innegra deck

I'm currently refurbishing an 81L a couple of years newer than that, just tiny rail dings and to be sold off. FYI of Fanatic quad fans.....

The board didn't work as a quad, but does now as a 2+ 1?

it looks great

No was ok if windy - small fins not much drive and sluggish to get going in cross on and choppy conditions- bigger fins didn't really help - just adds some extra use ability and upwind- my mistake was buying the Quad that I couldn't sell - hence the experiment

Good try out today definitely adds another dimension to the board - some great pics from Lano

I might say the quad fins, could have been improved on, while not just bigger, but I will think it instead.

Did you try it as. Twin ? Twins not my cuppa but maybe yours.
i like what you did.

No didn't try it as twin - but love my Kode 2016 wave 83 as a twinser - had a JP twin many years ago and wasn't a fan

I had the same vintage in 75ltr - great board, probably would have been been fun thruster or 2+1...
