Darcey was involved in a serious car crash on the Indian Ocean Drive on his way to the Green Head wave event. After seeing the wreck, his lucky to be alive .Darcey and the other driver were air lifted to royal Perth hospital with multiple injuries.Darcey has brakes to both legs a broken ankle and toes. Darcey does not miss any windy days in wa and is one of the biggest frothers on windsurfing I know.He is going to feel the pinch of being out of work and I was thinking of setting up a go fund me page, if anyone knows the best way to set it up, could you send me a pm. Cheers Ant.

That's terrible. He's not had much luck lately.
Keep us informed about kicking in for him.
Cheers
Ken

Its really easy Ant. Just Google it and follow the prompts. Perhaps pre-write your blurb before starting to make it easier.
Windsurfers are a great community of generous and caring people.

You can then share the go fund me link on this thread.

Darcy and me have been teaming up lately and been catching great sessions. He's a top bloke and one of our WA windsurfing family. This really brings it home for all of us who spend endless hours up and down the west cost chasing our passion. Be careful out there!
Of corse im in the go funding for him and available to help as he's going to be quite incapacitated until he's back on his feet.
Get well soon Darcy .

I just posted the following to Facebook.

It has been a tough weekend for windsurfers in WA.

Firstly, Darren Clark is alive but 2 broken feet will take time to recover from.

Secondly, GET A CARGO BARRIER IN YOUR VAN!

Darren's saved his life in combo with his airbag. He was involved in a head crash on the way to Greenhead Waves 2019 when the blue car (now missing engine and most the front end) crossed to the wrong side of the road on a blind corner near Cervantes.

According to the police that came to the beach to let us know, one of Darren's first concerns was that he would be delaying everyone getting to the wave comp.

A huge thank you to Max, Alex and Jesper for helping get Darren's belongings back to Perth

WWA has kicked into gear a plan to run the End of Season party as a fundraiser for Darren, Neil and Peter Mac. This is the extent of the plan at the moment but if you have any ideas or contacts with a great venue drop us a line info@windsurfingwa.org.au

Basically the more in kind support we can get the more money we can raise.

Fark more money for me

I'm right but grateful for the thought and for the amazing contributions I've already received.

Hopefully Darcey and Neil can receive similar help.

Also especially like to thank Michael White for helping me in so many different ways.

Well done WWA.
Sad to hear of 3 major accidents and all so close together. (sad to hear of ANY accidents really - let alone 3).

I wish all 3 sailors a good recovery.

Your not wrong JJ. I visited Darcey yesterday and he was in good spirits and is absolutely humbled by the enormous generosity of the windsurfing community. The fund will go a long way in helping him get back on his feet again. He has a long road ahead with his rehab but knowing Darceys strength and passion he will be back windsurfing stronger for next season.
