It's that time of the year for the West Coast Jet (www.westcoastjet.com.au/ ) photoshoot and we normally ask a few windsurfers if they want to ride on the boat for the filming, Steve Stratfold and friend came along on the last one. We're looking for youngish people, 14 in total (prefer more girls than guys) so show your interest and I'll contact you when the day gets closer which could be from next week to Oct. 7. This ones a ripper because we will be filming from 2 helicopters, one on either side of the boat - Greenroom should come along with his kids!
Yeah sounds fun! Where is it? How much does it cost? Would it likely to be during the week or on a weekend. My wife could come too. So thats four of us
Greeny, it's free! It's at Freo (Ciccerelos) then heading out around South Beach etc. plus jumping the wake of the Rottnest ferry. Will probably get 24 hours notice or less and the most likely days at this stage are Tues/wed - onwards next week.
With Greenys family and Gazza I think we're just about full now.
Think it will be easier to just post here to those people who are coming along on the jet boat instead of contacting everyone personally. We have the 2 helicopters booked, boat is ready so at this stage we are looking at Tuesday, time unknown at the moment but likely to be noon. If anyone can't make it just send me a message so we can confirm numbers.
For those people coming on the boat we are pushing ahead for this Tuesday so you will need to be seated on the boat by 11.15am Tuesday at Ciccerrellos - would be a good idea to bring a spray jacket as well, they are supplied if needed and a towel for afterwards! You should be on the boat for approx 1 hour and some people are bringing go-pros which are welcome.
I've just spoken with the boat owner and it is going ahead as planned tomorrow but we will need 100% confirmation from the people who are going so if you could either text or pm me so we can put your names on the list.
Thanks Col, that was heaps of fun. Wet, but fun. Thanks so much for the invitation!
My daughter says it was the most fun she has ever had, - as much fun as every ride she has ever had put together.
So that was you Anita! You should have introduced yourself to me as Windxtacy
Yeah I think my wife and I had more fun than the kids hahaha!
Not only was the jetboat cool but I think for me it was such a rush having two helis buzz around what seemed like metres from our heads Felt like we were in a James Bond movie
Thanks everyone for coming along, we ended up some of the best photos we've done and thanks to Justyna for joining Paul and I in the heli and taking most of the photos. I've put up a few on Flickr here www.flickr.com/photos/helifotos/ haven't even got the photos from the other heli yet.
Some photos from the second helicopter have just been put up on the above Flickr link, these are photos of Justyna taking photos from the 1st helicopter, some pretty cool ones there taken by John Douglas.
So here's the finished video, thanks to everyone involved especially Troppo for the Go-Pro footage, Justyna for taking the stills and the guys/gals that came along on the boat.
