I got one of these for solo hiking and rock climbing. They are small, maybe like half an iPhone, twice as thick. With it being small you are much more tempted to chuck it in the bag. I intend on it being a complete waste of money if all goes according to plan.

Similar to airbags in your car; they either do nothing or they save your life. Preferably nothing!

Done.

Let's aim to get 30 windsurfers over the finish line before the first kiter!

It was run today, heard it was kites 1st, 2nd and Cat 3rd not sure who though.

Shame it wasn't held over to tomorrow wind would have been better, I had a spot (kite) but I was having trouble getting anyone to cover my shift and am not set up for lightwind anyway so ended up working.

Tovar Mirsky on a foil board. Blew the fleet away

Wind for the first half of the race was almost coming straight from Carnac, looooong upwind...

Bring on one in a proper seabreeze

Last windsurfer over the line in 2Hrs 15 ish 12 of 30 entrants, Total distance of about 75 km for a 2 lap race
Got lapped by the cats before I got to the top mark! Took an hour and 10 to get there. Short tacks were trying to get weed off the pointer. Would never have got there on my 33 weedy!
Shame we couldn't have waited until 3 ish when it swung but a great job by the organisers on a very slick event!
Well done to Darryl G on taking top Poley spot.

Having had a more detailed look at the tracks here is a breakdown.
1st upwind leg 1 hr 15 (24 tacks),

2nd upwind 33 mins (7 tacks)
1st downwind 14 mins,

2nd 13mins averaging about 22knt
2nd lap was a 46 min total.

Start 1-35 Finish 3-49
Total race distance from start line to finish just about 70Km

I can only pick up things the same diameter as my boom and that are at the same height in the upwind stance, i feel this may be the case for several days

Great event, thanks JBSC!

I went the weedy and had no trouble other than convincing myself to go round again after the first lap!

Very trying for all, congrats to all who finished.
